She is worse here imo. In original version she never brought up (blamed) the sister's death after that one time…
Yup I think her dialogue is more negatively impactful here on SanHa's child self than the chinese ver.

SanHa's mom is just as unbearable in this version as the chinese ver. I'm on ep5 and truly hope they don't try to last min redeem her here.

At this point y’all admins should start removing or blocking these frustrated trolls who mask their hate as…
Exactly- I had some points about the show I didn't enjoy that much but the reason I completed it because it was still a decent watch. Leaving a comment or criticism after watching the drama in its entirety or even after dropping, is fine. However, hatewatching is a different matter.

In a comment I left, I called out people that came back EVERY EPISODE DROP with consistently nasty energy and comments. Because aren't they just being unreasonably hateful at that point? They love saying it's just valid criticism when they come back every week- just out to ruin the mood of those who do enjoy it.

One of them responded to my comment aggressively but blocked me after I replied.

What are YOU doing? If you're bothered by comments, do stop reading them and stick to watching the drama. Calling…
SORRY I stepped on your toes? People who come back after EVERY ep to complain are really just that- complainers. They did not like the show and expressed hate towards it. Don't put the word "haters" into my mouth when I did not use the term. HATE is diff from CRITICISM.

Giving valid criticism after watching something, whether it be after completion or dropping, is fine. Clearly, you have your own thing to work out. Reviewing is different from hatewatching lol.

And no shit it's not a fansite. I did not enjoy the drama in its entirety either.

I think they covered the topics of healing, growth and forgiveness well. The romance is a little too cringe for my taste but overall, a decent watch with good comedic moments (esp ML). Since romance is the main genre, I give it 7.5/10 because personally, I didn't find the 2 couples convincing.

To those that hated, nitpicked and complained from ep 1 all the way till the end--- what are yall doing? Stop wasting your own time and drop dramas that you aren't enjoying.

Edit: Dear roddib (MDL user), I am referring to people who hatewatch, and have something nasty to say after every ep drop. If you categorise those with people who express dislike after watching it fin, or dropping and giving their opinion afterwards, then I have nothing to say. We can agree to disagree.

Update: Roddib could not take any heat and decided to block me after being the aggressor.

How come so many say its "so bad" when its sitting on 8.8?
Some rate it high for the pure thrill and look of the show ig? Can give it a try and see if it suits your taste.

Imo, story and characters really fall flat compared to the stellar appearance and camera work. Pacing could also be improved. Hence, I can't help but rate it low atm (i'm only at ep 5 but both me and my dad are considering just dropping).

Sad that she had to marry young when she hadn't solidified her stance in the industry. Hope the director didn't…
Bruh she's 28, a VERY reasonable adult age to be marrying. Plus, she should have no problem continuing career growth after marriage lol? She's been acting for ard 15yrs- do you consider those who have yet to make a "big break" unworthy of finding love and tying the knot?

The webtoon seems well-received on Naver so hopefully they'll be able to translate it well into live action. Seems like one of those premises that's either going to be surprisingly great or straightup trash.

TBH I am close to dropping it but if you go in with the mindset that it is an 8 episode drama and stop after 8…
Man that's really sad to hear :/

I was waiting for this drama to end to watch (liked the webtoon in the past, remember it fondly). Now I'm seeing the ratings drop off due to bad writing...

To those that do watch finish- please lmk if its worth it in the end LOL

I agree with everything except your point about Chang Huasen's acting. He did a sufficient job for his irrevocably…
That's understandable- agreed that not even a great actor could pull of that badly-directed/written character.

it's a good thing you are not the majority view
Your point? I'm glad this show received the love it did because it was originally unfairly criticised in China due to Lyn's looks.

Title A Journey to Love Spoiler
Best parts:
1. Characters- Yu Shi San, Ah Ying, Yuan Lu
2. Fight Choreography (imo best ones i've seen so far- every single fight scene was SO impressive and fluid)
3. Costumes (amazing, detailed designs)
4. Main OST (by LYN, but got overused)
5. Overarching plot
6. LYN- I have liked him since his appearance in Long Ballad.
7. Genuinely strong female lead (strength and badassness remain consistent from start to end)

Worst parts:
1. Editing and stitching of scenes (first half was atroscious in this regard).
2. CGI and studio lighting for numerous outdoor scenes (forgivable by Cdrama standards, but I dislike it)
3. Romantic scenes between the leads after they got together-
Countless poorly timed scenes slotted in during urgent plotlines that were happening at the same time. Their conversations were also often too mundane and slow for an onlooker to enjoy (would have been ok if not for oversaturation of their scenes).
4. Pacing-
The story remained relatively interesting but instead of ramping up during exciting moments- there were weird breaks that messed with the flow of the show's main plot. They rushed through plotlines using montages at times which did not feel right as they could have been fleshed out if they didn't spend so much time on empty dialogue between the leads.
5. Li Tong Guang-
Absolutely worst written character in any Cdrama I have ever watched. Extremely inconsistent, insanely infuriating and too easily forgiven time and time again by the leads. A flipping pancake of a character and way too unpredictable to be likeable in any way. You can have a bad yet compelling character that's well-written. He is a bad character that the writers want to be good but is extremely badly-written. He is the WORST aspect of this drama for me. The actor playing it failed to convey any subtle emotions- it was either 0 or 100. But he's new so there is room to grow.
6. Ending-
Was fine with the sad ending (this is when Lyn's OST started feeling overused since there were so many consecutive deaths and all used his song+a flashback montage) up till they suggested the ML and FL might still be alive. Hated the last scene- it was visually ugly and the write-off of the leads' deaths felt cheap. Even if there are other interpretations, it was poorly executed.

Overall, such a hard watch from ep 22 onwards. The Liudao hall buddy group, Ah Ying's growth, political fight and battle between the kingdoms kept me going but was still disappointed in the end. Would not recommend.

I'm currently at ep 10 and the leads are cute together. But if it was the ML playing the FL instead, like she is to him so far, audience would not be tolerating it as much.

I'm genuinely curious to know why the ending has upset you? I'm slightly baffled as to why the ending has had…
Happy to answer your question. The buildup of the whole drama honestly gave me an increased hope in him surviving due to the Styx flower being brought up multiple times. Many people fought for LLH's miracle cure and it finally landed in their hands in the final ep.

What upsets me the most is some ambiguous poison (not as serious as LLH's) snatched this priceless cure away. Not only that, it went to an ungrateful and insecure emperor. I understand that as a ruler, he needed to take precautions. However, the show did not give us enough to demonstrate his benevolence (mostly only through LLH's words near the end).

I am in no way saying this show had to have a good ending- but I would have preferred the payoff to be better. This styx flower felt extremely wasted and TO ME, the use felt unjustified. I think what upsets me the most is the fact that the show could have easily gave a more solid ending. The extra ending felt like it was reaching for straws with a weird scene of LLH in his winter fur coat (which he left without) on a beach. I just think it could have been far better had they given him either a definitive death as they KEPT harping about the flower being the ONLY cure. OR they follow the novel and show them interacting with him at the end, taking care of him in his final days of insanity. They have set this up since the beginning. The payoff was too poor, hence my dissatisfaction at the ending.

Hope you now understand why I am upset. The open ending was not a well-done one.
