i’ve been seeing so many negative comments of this, and i don’t really understand it. like the pacing doesn’t seem to bad although i will say the format of the release is different to normal kdramas which is why people may not like it in that regard. i think all the criticisms seem to be stemming from a comparison of this to other dramas like pyramid game, but obviously considering the format of the show alone, you shouldn’t be expecting them to be the exact same. i read the manhwa and this show seems fairly similar to it so far, and if it continues to be so then i hope everyone understands that literally every one of the main girls in this show has NUANCE to their story, they’re not solely bad or good, that’s just not how their storylines have been written, so the criticism of everybody in the drama/school being psychotic is not the best one. honestly people need to just wait before they start giving insane criticisms, we’ve literally only got 3/16 episodes of the show, ‘typical’ kdramas don’t even receive these types of bad reviews and judgements this early in their runtime

tbh i think instead the main ‘problem’ in the series will be pam’s deceit and that whole story, cuz if gmmtv is gonna do one thing well, it’s rewrite all the questionable stuff chao planoy writes 🙏🙏🙏

also does everyone believe kawi knows absolutely nothing about the parents, cuz idk man…

rak’s mother needs to STAND UP oml, not your teenaged daughter knowing better than you…

they’ve already confirmed a season 2 so prang is definitely gonna be fine 🤞🤞

they’re having a fanmeet(in person and live streamed i think) where they’ll be airing an exclusive version of episode 7, so i’m assuming in order to avoid spoilers and such they moved the ‘normal’ version of episode to saturday as well

i am a bit worried about the fact that they only have 8 episodes, but i think considering the storyline of the book the pacing does seem quite good so far, but ig we’d only be able to truly tell around halfway through the series

ugh i can already tell this is gonna be a beautiful show, already have a special spot for it in my top gls. my fave scene was definitely the one on the rooftop, i love how karan didn’t try to act like she perfectly understood what kliao was feeling but was still ready to be there for her, i can tell that the writing is already so good!!

ohh i see what you mean now, especially with the use of ‘bi erasure’ specifically. i do definitely hope that in general thai gls become more open to including bi characters and exploring the love triangle in that setting, it might make an interesting story

personally i think that whenever they use a man as a plot device in a lesbian relationship it has the potential of being harmful to the bi community, as usually in thai gls the girl is never shown to have true feelings for the man and so it’s used to instead further the main relationship. and i think that’s where the ‘bi erasure’ comes from, like if they truly wanted to use a man as a proper part of the storyline and include bisexual characters then the woman obviously would have to have feelings for the man as well, which doesn’t really happen. if anything with the way they use a male character like this, it may further the whole ‘bisexuality isn’t real, and you’re either a lesbian or straight’ which is of course a very harmful stereotype

omg i totally get what u mean, they always end up using the guy as a plot device to create drama but i feel like that just gets so tiring, like the way idol factory always uses that one guy to stir up drama is so frustrating…

from what i’ve heard they didn’t do too well in the thai box office and are now struggling to find a platform who are willing to stream it internationally. it seems atp the only hope is that a platform like gagaoolala agrees to stream it, as far as i know they have options to suggest movies to be put onto the site, so if enough people suggest it then they may stream it. but rn it seems that the prospect of this film being made available to steam internationally is quite uncertain

i have to say this is the most beautifully shot gmmtv series i’ve seen so far, everything including the acting is done with such softness and sincerity it blows me away, my favourite scene was when they were in Pam’s room, the way they blurred the outer shot softly so we could focus on Pam and Rak in the moment was amazing. i hope this show gets promoted more because these girls and crew truly deserve their flowers
