gah me too. The novel is a HE but so was TTEOTM novel. I have zero expectations at this point.
at the end they are "reborn" as mortals with half a soul and no immortal bone. They are finally able to be together.

that was the only way to destroy the distress way. At least in the novel he is reborn as a mortal, but still a demon fetus. So he still is devil god but without the evil.
