We all get it. Top wants to make amends, redeem himself, play the protective knight, and maybe, just maybe, he's holding onto the hope that Mew will trust him again. But darling, barging into someone's personal life isn't the way! Maybe it's my cultural lens speaking, but meeting the parents? That's a big step, symbolizing the intention of taking a relationship forward. Now, considering Mew and Top are no longer an item (and let's not forget the whole cheating saga), it's a bold move for Top to cozy up to Mew's moms. It's almost distasteful. These gestures? They aren't redemption; they're invasion.
In the comedy sketch playing out in my mind, Mew’s sharp-witted lesbian moms had a plan. As Top rambled on, one mom casually synced her phone to a nearby speaker and pressed play. Suddenly, the room was filled with the unmistakable sounds of Top’s moans. As Top’s face turned fifty shades of red, the other mom, feigning innocence, asked, “Oh dear, what’s that sound? Someone seems to be… enjoying themselves?” The first mom added with a smirk, “It’s so hard to keep track of all these audio clips, isn’t it?”
Caught in the act, Top was left speechless, the lesson loud and clear. These moms don’t just keep an ear to the ground; they’ve got an audio archive! Play fair, Top, or face the music.
But if Mew's cool with it, deep breaths... As for Top? His "back-in-your-life" grand entrance? Big nope from me. Mew's life, Mew's rules! 🙅♂️
In this rollercoaster of a show, every character loves with an intensity that’s almost palpable. They are true to themselves - sometimes to their minds, sometimes to their hearts, occasionally to their habits, often to their vulnerabilities, and yes, sometimes to their carnal desires. They invest so much in the act of love, showcasing both human frailties and strength.
The most poignant moment of episode nine for me wasn’t about the triad of couples moving closer together, but about closure. Nick found closure from his past obsession with Boston, and in a twist of fate, his ‘confession’ became the balm to Boston’s hidden wounds. Ray and Mew’s heart-to-heart was another moment of such closure.
I don’t care about the external returns, but more about the closure of a chapter and the inner peace it brings. And I couldn’t help but wonder, isn’t closure the truest form of growth?
Firstly, there's a poignant truth in allowing oneself to be vulnerable in love. It's like wearing your heart on your sleeve with a neon sign saying "Handle with care." That’s why when love takes a detour, the sting cuts so deep. Take Mew, for instance. He never truly loved Ray. He admitted to using him as a pawn in a vengeful game against Top. So, when Ray cozied up with Sand, instead of a dramatic meltdown, Mew could genuinely toast to their happiness. It's like watching a romance movie and the protagonist ends up waving at the departing train instead of running after it.
And then there's the second piece of advice – don't go around smooching your friends willy-nilly, be it under the influence or just a wild urge to play scientist with your feelings. Because more often than not, it ends in a comedic fiasco. In the real world, Harry and Sally just shared a table, not lingering kisses. And trust Sand and Nick to bring this life lesson to the forefront. They're the poster children for "Tried kissing my best friend, and now it's a sitcom episode."
So, in the wise words of Carrie Bradshaw - while New York City might be the backdrop, the true stories are penned in the heartbeats and missteps of our personal adventures. Cheers to lessons in love! 🍸

Hsiao Hung's comedic flair is next level - those exaggerated faces aren't for the faint of heart. Can't believe it's his debut!
When did XSZ fall for YSY? Felt like I blinked and missed an episode. Still, I watched with a big grin!
