update: ok im reallllly enjoying it now. i still think the actress lacks the range to provide gravitas to her Grandmaster Mu self, but as Ranran shes very good. I think it says alot that this story managed to win over someone like me, who was very underwhelmed after the first 3 eps.

finally enjoying it after 2 failed attempts. the FL is cool, but i maintain the actress falls short of the role. i think her casting made this character have no “gravitas”, or i should say not enough. the role is written to require a good amount of it and you can sense the lack even as most other things are very enjoyable.so im finally liking it, im even liking her, AND im glad i figured out why it didnt feel right for a long time.

i didnt mean romantic acts, but they do have “romanic” as in “budding feelings” moments. like with the umbrella. obviously its just for him and she barely notices which is good but i still struggle with it.

honestly just got to that part and its ridiculous. YOU DONT USE A BOW FOR CLOSE RANGE FIGHTING, omg so basic.

when will he stop being a kid at all? im at ep 2 and its a real struggle to watch a child have romanic scenes with the fl 🫠

im 7 episodes in and underwhelmed. its beautiful, expensive and well cast, but other than that i cant say much else. ill stick with it cos everyone here is so excited about it and much can improve in coming episodes!

thats not how she comes across for someone who hasn’t read the books, but i think i know what you mean. its probably an enhanced effect when comparing it to the book’s characterization

watched 2 eps and am underwhelmed with the acting of the FL. ive watched “the legends” with Bai Lu and the plot seems quite similar and this series seems to pale in comparison when it comes to the acting of female lead.

am i wrong? should i trust and keep watching?
