Hum , people who read my comment and think of hating the actor are crazy. Someone real life and carrer is more important than me watching a drama from my couch. And I never said they will cancel the show because of him. Re read the comment. I said he became mainstream, which he did and now maybe I could have clarified that the show itself is mainstream and viral. But that cuts might be made because of that. Hell even Yu Zheng is commenting publicly on him. It’s a combination of things. He is trending everyday because of people malicious attacks and it’s already affecting his carrer.

We are talking abt what can happen do the drama, ban or alteration. You are saying that china can have no influence on anything airing abroad. Why was the show paused then?
My speculation is that it might get a justice in the dark treatment; which again wasn’t even a bl. They seem to have already deleted scenes (fans speculation).

You are saying what we have been saying all along. It could get banned or altered. We can’t assume no potential impact of china just because its airing on a foreign channel. Or else it wouldn’t have been paused to begin with.
Some dramas were never aired after being stopped, Others were. There is a precedent for both. I personally believe and hope it will come back

Do you know abt the show that a channel in Japan recently bought. It was a bromance to start with but they even gutted any semblance of connection before selling it to a foreign country. None of us want this to happen, canceling or deletion of scenes ( which seems to have started already). We are just relating the current experience to what has happened before. No one wishes for it , but for some people, thinking of the worst case scenario helps in tempering expectations. we all hope it’s just our pessimism talking. But you can’t negate these feelings.

The show is viral in china and the actors are active in the Chinese industry… think abt it

This is a Chinese drama and a BL . most recent ‘Bromance’ have been blocked, banned , stopped and or altered. Its a bit naive to expect people to ignore that fact.

The series made him popular but he was cast in a mainstream production before the series started airing. I think they started shooting recently. Knowing what you know about the Chinese entertainment industry and even BLS with no clear NC, do you truly believe that this series is not a risk to their career ?

The first few chapters of the book were confusing too. I’m worried because it seems they are not condensing the book content and using the book almost word to word. Will they have enough episodes ?

But making fun of drama clichés while having your plot embrace them to death doesn’t work in my opinion.
Half of the characters were insufferable and I honestly couldn’t help but skip every time Cgh and the king would be on screen.

I wish they moved past the portrayal of caricatured villain faster than after 30+ episodes
At that point I had already stopped caring about most of the characters and that is not a sign of effective writing.

I’m halfway and she still thinks he is her brother ,….this sibling to romance trope only feels ok when the leads did not live as real siblings for a major part of their live. This makes me a bit uncomfortable
