With the fourth episode of OTVI it's another fabulous episode and notably more humorous as well.
Jung's character remains a tent pole of directness and shapes up perfectly for his role in HR. His technical know how and direct attitude is shown to be an absolute benefit to HR and not to be taken lightly by Moon.
Ex hubby is a mess as always and his inferiority complex deepens, it's like a detailed looked into what a fragile ego becomes under pressure and it's not a diamond.
I like how it's a consistent thing with him. From the perspective of Moon's flashback to all the behaviour he's exhibited towards Jung so far. The man's self esteem and ego are in a paradoxical relationship.
Your suggestion on Misaeng, I so want to watch it, but people say the ML treatment is very poor and he suffers…
Only for the first two episodes is he outrightly bullied and that itself has narrative purpose. I cannot recommend Misaeng enough though. It's peak office drama, the characters, especially Mr Oh (if you like Jung's character here your gonna fall in love with grumpy Oh) but all the characters in general. It tackles just about every aspect of Korean workplace life from overbearing seniors, working moms etc. All in a nuanced and engaging way.
Know you weren't really asking me particularly, but trust me, it's some good stuff ^_^
Exactly! Especially when you consider it debuted at 8.8. Which I thought was just right and left room for it to climb higher. It not like the show got worse, hell it's only getting better.
Jung Jae Young's character is the walking talking "I'm too old for this shite". His straight forward takes are just brilliant and his character is a light in the dark pit of semantic and underhanded dealings. Him going straight to Miss Tang for the struggles of her ex is a hilarious and prefect example of this. Otherwise my faith in this show's brilliance still sits firmly intact with this episode.
Fabulous first episode. All the performances were great and the overall tone and direction of the show is nice as well. I for one am a massive fan of drama's that have older leads. It nice to have a more grounded tale once in a while with seasoned actors and not the typical fantasy/vanilla romcom with the babyfaced beginners. No shade intended 😂
I praise your bravery once it's hit the dropped bin for me it ain't coming back. What did you think of Nobody Knows Kate? I remember being slightly underwhelmed, how did you find it?
Loving all the beach pictures ?. I'm from Malaysia and we're in our third pandemic lockdown since March 2020.…
Before 2016/2017 there was a period where I was fine with watching the nearly endless stream of romcoms. I got bored of them after awhile and for about two years only really watched anime. I came back around 2016/2017 when Kdrama really started diversifying in my eyes. Plenty of action, mystery and psychological thrillers along with just generally interesting slice of life stuff with improved production quality and those are is mostly what I watch these days. Occasionally if I'm in the mood I'll watch a romcom.
If your asking like currently watching: Bossam: Steal the Fate, Undercover, two Japanese shows Sakura no Tou and Ichikei no Karasu and Mad for Each Other
Loved the prosecutors in this episode as well haha
Fancy seeing you here. What struck me the most is that the show didn't do what I expected them to do.That being leaning into portraying them as cartoonishly evil.
The new faction being born is fantastic. Hopefully they can accomplish their goal. The story doesn't seem like one that will just roll over for a happy ending.
From Antigua. Great article. I'm curious about the dubbing you mentioned was it American? I started watching this…
The dub for Brilliant Legacy had Asian actors doing the voice over. I think the case with School Nurse files is that it's a dub that's the product of modern Netflix. Brilliant Legacy's dub was long before that.
They usually dub with an amount of localisation, meaning they try to make it very relevant to whatever cultural context the dub is being provided for. It's an issue with dubs in general I guess.
I am a Jamaican who is addicted to K-drama. However now I notice my taste switching to C-drama (i don't know why).…
True if we were to get them back on TV I hope they at least diversify the options. There are plenty of K-dramas in different genres to captivate a wider group of people.
