Odd that this is suddenly marked as unconfirmed when Triage even set it up. I read that Tul would be coming back to film in between schooling. I wonder what triggered people to doubt this coming out. It was announced in early 2022, and then again after Triage, but since I don't speak much Thai, I have to get all of my info second hand like many of the people on MDL.

At any rate, Manner of Death was amazing, so I'm really looking forward to this.

I don't mean to be rude, but I'm very confused. So the girl who looks like a super model (Green?) is the "plain" girl, but the average-looking girl is the wild beauty? Just looking at the cast photos, it was a strange choice. Not to be unkind to the girl they picked, it's just kind of odd that they picked someone so unusually gorgeous to be the "ugly friend" when the one meant to be the hot girl is actually a little plain. Unless I'm confusing who is playing who. It could also just be unflattering pictures, because I haven't seen either actress in action before, I don't think.

I'm sorry, but how stupid is Mu Yeong exactly? Min Yeong was flat out cheering them on, and he's still like, but they're dating! I liked that this show talked about nuance in sexuality and stuff. That was really cool. But I can't stop feeling annoyed with the very forced misunderstanding and the fact that they're still doing the dead fish kiss. It'd be better to just fake it at that point. I don't know.

Korean BL is great at picking visually appealing actors, but they need to find guys who are willing to work on the chemistry. Even so, that isn't what irked me the most, so if they'd just made the MC less clueless, I'd be more forgiving. Plus everything with the friend was weird and rushed, and I just felt like this didn't live up to it's potential. Which is a shame, because I liked other things about it.

Okay, so apparently this is a movie now, not a series anymore.

The final episode killed it for me. I was enjoying it and the humor, and I was willing to tolerate the drama because shows like this always must force in silly drama right at the end. But yeah, I get that forgiving parents and letting them do whatever is a cultural thing, but nah, that ain't it. The end could have been sweet if they didn't include that gross bit, only to act like it didn't even happen. I want to have fond feelings over the show, but it'll require me to pretend like the violent assault and injuries never happened, because the show sure as hell acted like it didn't. What was the point? It basically just laughed it off. Went from like an 8.5 to me to like... I don't even know. Definitely started much stronger than it ended up, sadly.

Ah, I noticed a tag change. Is this not a BL? Like is it gen, so they don't have feelings for each other?

Color grading is mood dependent. It's like how most horror movies are on a gray scale. It's trying to establish this as a serious crime drama. I'm actually a fan of shows deviating from the norm, personally, but I understand why they do it.

Seriously! His one shot to be the main love interest is very likely canceled. It's not fair.

I read that this will be based more closely on the manga than the Japanese version, so I started reading the manga, and now I'm nervous. I didn't want a carbon copy of the Japanese version just in Thai, but I had no idea just how much the live action added charm and humor to the story. Hats off to the screenwriters and director of the Japanese one, because they took the essence of a pretty plain story and made it something special.

To be fair, I'm only like ten chapters in, so maybe things change, but the manga makes everyone so much less likable. Plus it's full of old cliches that I hate and was relieved to see being used less often in live action stuff. For example, in the manga, there's a lot of focus on how both of the guys are straight. I have my fingers crossed that we won't have to deal with a bunch of that again. Ideally they'll modernize it a bit (less "it's okay if it's you," less homophobia and such), flesh it out better like the first live action adaptation did, then give it its own new type of charm. Here's hoping.

Same! They're both the bad guys in my mind at this point. There's unrequited love, and then there's creepy, pushy, toxic behavior. Playing the victim after refusing to take no for an answer is gross.

Exactly! I was saying that the entire time my friend and I were watching. Mint is the female equivalent of the "Nice Guy" stereotype, and if the roles were reversed, this would all be very different. It's so strange to me how people missed what was intended and somehow thought Mint and Dew were a sweet couple that just suddenly ended.

All of the comments about them dating right after the show aired were making me feel like I was losing my mind or something. I'm relieved to come back to the comments and find a bunch like this that took the words right out of my mouth. There's so much wrong here, and hopefully that's all intentional. My fear is that we're supposed to feel sympathy for this person when they're being gross and selfish. But maybe that's the point. Here's hoping it ends up being satisfying.

I felt the same way about all of those things! I do think Vee is coming from a place of insecurity, though, so I hope he has a chance to redeem himself. Unlike the other person, who is so pushy and over-the-top about her feelings that she's coming across as delusional and creepy. I've noticed there's a theme of unrequited love in this show, at least four examples of it with hints of more.

Also, that fake out was just cheap and made me respect the show less. I'm not giving up on it yet, but give me a break. You showed us what you showed us, then you undid it in the next episode to drag it out even more. It isn't a good kind of anticipation now. It just feels irritating. Maybe five will redeem the show, but I'm nervous moving forward.

The trailer is expected to come out in March, apparently? They're casting this month though, so yay. Fingers crossed this is good.

Right? I sure hope things start to clear up, because I love Ohm and Fluke, and I want to like this show. But it's definitely making me nervous thus far.

It feels more than embarrassing to me. It's starting to give me Fatal Attraction vibes. If this were a guy who wouldn't ease off of a girl, no one would be defending him. My only hope is that the show is intentionally showing how unstable she is. I'm afraid that we're supposed to sympathize with her and feel bad for her, because if anything she's making me intensely uncomfortable. Her delusions are going to get Dew hurt. She's not acting like a good friend at all, like the girl equivalent to a "Nice Guy," where she hovers around wanting something more, no matter the cost.

But if we're supposed to find it off-putting, great. It's definitely working. If we're supposed to empathize with her, this ain't it. And I agree, the dude simping over her is super embarrassing and pathetic. What's with all of the obsessive, one-sided love on this show?

I don't get where people are getting this. What part did he ever accept it? He just tells her over and over that they're better off as friends. Are people just confused because Mint is delusional and keeps saying they're gonna start dating soon? Because Dew never once says that he's dating her.
