Some people say that there's no romance between the leads, but there is a strong suggestion that it does, in my opinion. It's not explicit like traditional romance dramas (I can't say more without spoilers). I think it was done that way because of public opinion about relationships between older men and younger women these days (specially in Korea). The relationship of the leads was one of the aspects that I liked the most.
First I need to say that I can't help but see similarities with "My Mister", which is my favorite drama of all time. Especially the leads and the first few episodes.
Overall it's a pretty good drama. It's definitely not for everyone: it's slow and somewhat contemplative, with a lot of dialogue and silence. The acting is good. Just like IU in "My Mister", it's interesting to see the cute and energetic Lee Sung Kyung doing such a sad and damaged character. The siblings and the pharmacist are also pretty good. But I have to say, I don't think Kim Young Kwang is a perfect match for his character, although he did a very decent job.
I really liked the photography, it reminds me of "Encounter" and "My Mister" (some of my favorites in that regard). The soundtrack is good and definitely one of the best intros I've seen so far.
As a side note, it's interesting to see how much k-drama directing and photography has evolved over the last 10 years.
Good drama. The plot is OK, very interesting in the beginning and still good until the end. A little boring in the middle. I also didn't like the unnecessary sacrifices that some characters were willing to make, it felt out of place and over the top.
Honestly I don't think the ending is that much open. The scene in the plane could be seem as afterlife or even…
As I said "I don't think the ending is that much open", meaning still somewhat open. And I gave two possibilities: afterlife or memory "place". I hope they don't make a second season, unless they have an amazing idea.
I re-watched a couple days ago and I still think is good (not excellent). The characters are decent and the leads are likeable. The first few episodes were a little boring to re-watch, but it got better. And I have to say the action, mostly in the beginning, is over the top and unbelievable.
FInally done. I'm not sure where the negativity is coming from. I think the story was great, episode by episode…
Honestly I don't think the ending is that much open. The scene in the plane could be seem as afterlife or even the "place" where Tae Sul went to save Seo Hae (looks like his memory from the plane) and he could be "hallucinating" Seo Hae the same way he did with his brother (funny enough, she's sitting in the same place as his brother).
The last scene with Won Ju is showing that he's still obsessed with Tae Sul (he was since infancy). And I think the notebook with information about the future (now erased) could be explained the same way as his childhood drawings (about Tae Sul's future): he seems to have a special ability.
Dropped because I just can't get used to the idea of a human falling in love with a robot. Even though we know…
Human beings can easily bond with things or even people they will never meet in person (e.g. celebrities, characters). In those cases, they love the idea in their own head, not the person or thing itself.
Overall is a good drama, with interesting characters. The school life is interesting and we have the opportunity to explore the characters personalities and goals. But I have to ask, why people seems to like male leads like that? I don't have problem with more serious characters, but Jiang Chen is almost unlikable to me. His cute moments aren't that great and most of his special moments with the FL are considered great because the FL likes him, not because it means a lot in general. I didn't had SML syndrome, but Wu Bo Song attitude towards Xiao Xi are much more relevant and positive. Lu Yang and Jing Jing romance was much more interesting and fun to watch.
He divorces, and after some time skip by the end of the drama, main leads meet and there's a clear hint that they…
I don't think they are actually divorced by them, but clearly separated. I suppose DH kept the marriage for his mother's sake. And the smile he gave to Ji-An at the end is a clear "I missed you so much" :)
no there's no dating, he will be with his wife only
I don't know if it's because people are used to traditional or cliche romances, but it's obvious to me that they like each other. DH is pretty strict in the way he treats other people (especially women), but we can see things changing over the course of the series in regards to Ji-An. They don't connect because of physical attraction, but because they share pain and sadness. They see in each other someone to relate.
She became so important to him that he allows physical contact with her towards the end of the series, something he wouldn't do with another woman (other than his wife and mother). He even avoid to touch Jeong Hee, his long time friend.
For me this drama is about life and family, with a realistic romance disguised as a friendship.
Wonderful actress, disliked the end. It felt incomplete, specially for mature 30+ year old adults. No time for…
Agree. I think Kohei accepting her as the star he was looking for and then following her as a bodyguard to the US would be a more satisfying ending. Anything but that.
Sometimes interesting, sometimes boring. The writing is pretty inconsistent, it feels like the writers were taking turns between episodes (some are decent but others have silly and unrealistic dialogue). It started well, until episode 5, then it got interesting again until episode 10. Hope I can finish it (I'm on episode 13). I'm staying for the mystery.
The "romance" also did not develop in an interesting way. There have been hints here and there, but things happen suddenly and without proper development. I also missed further development of secondary characters (in the present).
PS: Gong Seung Yeon eyes are stunning and Dan Hwal is much more handsome in the past.
