Title High Cookie
i don't really understand why after all these months good translation still isn't available. there are so many…
It's a pity that ever since these OTTs like Netflix and Disney, etc entered the kdrama scene with their official but low effort and low paid subs.... we have lost all the many sincere and more accurate free fansubs.

Those guys would've subbed this already.

RIP kissasian and dramacool 🙏🪦

I mean 7 first kisses was only a fan-service advert for Lotte World

Also, I think this might've been filmed before Twinkling Watermelon. And atleast clearly filmed before TW released, so its success would have had no effect on CHW's script choice.

Do you children understand the meaning of a review ?

If you were unable to watch something and therefore unable to gain any semblance of understanding of it, then you can't review it.

Although, I suppose I should thank you for not rating/review bombing a drama for "bad subs!!".

I'm assuming you watched on some non-official streaming site with Chinese fan added google translate subtitles. Regardless, the original producers of the drama are not in charge of the foreign language subtitles. These are Korean productions made for Koreans.

And lastly, this website is essentially a fan/audience run website. So complaints about the lack of subtitles in these reviews isn't going to reach the authorities in charge of that stuff.

It's probably June. Netflix releases a K-drama every 3 weeks or so. Bloodhounds season 2, If Wishes Could Kill…
Oh it's a Netflix original?

So now they're pushing a trend of further cutting down runtime of kdramas from the already ill-fittingly short 8 episodes to 6?

Considering their episode runtimes tend to be 40/45 with 10/15 min of that being credits+intro theme...

This "drama" going to be the same length as a movie 😟

It's a rom-com, but has neither romance nor comedy...so what is it 🤔😂🤡
🤡 I feel like they just tagged it rom"com" in order to signify that it's a lighthearted drama.

I've seen bad comedy in dramas that have primary comedy tag. Cringe humour and exaggerated slapstick. Or moments that are clearly written to be funny but fail because the actors don't have comedic timing or good acting. That's not the case here. The FL actress was great in True Beauty which was romcom. The ML actor was even better in TW in making you laugh. So their actors are capable but there's simply not a single funny moment written or directed in.

"Don’t know what weird spell this show put on me but I still kept watching it"

lmao, about sums up my experience

I think it's because, it's soo..... monotone that it's like possible to watch it as background noise and easily keep up with the show even if you miss episodes 2-11 lol and there's nothing to emotionally instigate you therefore it's an easy watch

(aside from the grandma but she was so cartoon soap opera villain clearly inserted for the mandatory childhood traumatised ML trope that I couldn't take it seriously)

Also, pretty good production values and pretty female lead

However, I'm still searching for the comedy tag. It's a romcom. We've all established it fails in the romance department. But I'm more concerned about the total lack of comedy ? Like there's not one scene I can think of that was meant to induce laughter ? Not even forced slapstick ?

Why 7.6?
1- There's targeted harassment towards the FL actress that has nothing to do with this drama (it was spam rated before it took off), and has been prevalent issue since around her Lovely Runner era.

2- The writing is on a disconnected AI level (the fact that this is actually plausible with so many 'artists' nowadays taking AI help when creating their art 😞). Everything from pacing, character/relationship development, characterisation, plot stakes.... is mediocre and unrealistic. Thus, there's no counter of positive reviews to offset the harassers. The characters with the most initial promise are minor/ secondary (SML that borders the edge of being an antagonist & SFL who has cute energy).

(One pro is that thankfully this drama does not have a love triangle. Or even a secondary couple... they barely wrote the main loveline lol)

3- For a romance drama they really have no romantic chemistry. Their build up is also.... well there's no build up. They're better off and funnier as platonic frenemies. However, they're not terrible to watch. So likely if the actors here had more support it'd be rated at like 8 like another romance drama here that has zero romantic chemistry coupled with silly writing- My Dearest Nemesis. That one wasn't even funny though.... not even once....

Person Roh Jeong Eui
her script selection is horrible. Her last five shows... below average is an understatement. Is she at the point…
I'm more concerned about her mental health now and what kind of emotional support she's getting from those around her. She's a former child actor, they are particularly vulnerable due to being exposed to a toxic industry and the adult world at a young age.

Not only is her career trajectory going in a slump due to poor scripts (not to mention she's not being praised for acting in those projects- so possible facial paralysis from PS), but she's also trapped in the beauty/image curse. Any adult hitting 40kg should be raising neon red flags, like what the hell is her agency doing?

Person Lee Do Hyun
Perhaps you don't know what good acting means since among korean actors his age, his acting is the best. I can…
@WATCHNEGA

It's funny because this guy here doesn't have most his watch history rated at all, but of the few he has, two of them are LDH as ML dramas LOL. (The Glory Part 2 and 18 Again which is impossible to love if you don't appreciate/can immerse yourself with the ML's acting).

Also, he's here to diss on this actor's profile for "coasting by in the industry just with his good looks"..... and yet one of the scathing reviews he leaves for a drama (King of Pigs) has him bashing the ML actors for being "average looking" and thus unfit to be kdrama leads and thus their drama "deserves!" to be underrated. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I...... was not expecting Lee Do Hyun's military comeback project to be the Hotel Del Luna sequel. He was my favourite character in that. Actually, I wasn't expecting a Hotel Del Luna sequel at all. I'm not sure how I feel about this....

The premise has already been milked well enough with HDL and other inspired ghost/weekly sob cases dramas. Don't know what more they could do with this to stand out as a unique drama and atleast be on par with the first, if not surpass the original universe.

It does have a very strong cast though. From the versatile LDH to the boldly charismatic LSH and the promising Family Matters rookie. (Haven't seen the FL in anything yet). So, I'll keep my hopes up for the acting to deliver and engage me. Hong Sisters dramas can be very 50/50 on the writing. They have creative, novel ideas dominating the horror comedy genre, but sometimes lose the plot.

I highly doubt this is going to happen now or if it does go ahead somehow, it's likely going to be a completely different cast than the ones listed here.

From the comments here I think these lead actors were chosen about 5 years ago and this was probably meant to be a web drama.... at this point those actors are both too old for the "first year highschooler" age and too big to be part of a webdrama adaptation of a childish/unpopular webtoon

Unless ofcourse, filming was already done years ago like for History of Losers and we get a haphazardly edited late release.

here mainlead is ha eun gyeol ???
Yes,

But it's not the typical romcom understanding of first lead couple/ second lead couple division

It's a family focus drama, with the primary narrative of the story told through Eun Gyeol's lens. As he's a character that values his family over himself and treats himself as an afterthought, his own needs and feelings are treated as secondary. Which is reflected in the drama writing - in the way his parent's lives, struggles/traumas and their love is given so much more weight.

If y'all don't like slow paced dramas.. and depressed characters.. THIS DRAMA IS NOT FOR U .. I'm gonna cry if…
More than that... one of the highlighted reviews listed on this page complaining about "too much runtime" at only 12 episodes is more provoking to me.

Y'all want dramas to become 1 hour/ 2 hour long movies or what ? Then movies will be 3 minutes long ?

Am I the only one who felt put off by whatever Choi Hyun Wook was trying to do with his voice throughout the whole 12 episode drama ? I assume it was in an attempt to sound like an older mature 30 year old CEO and not a cute highschooler....

There was a small scene with the designer saying the person he knew as "Sarah" ordered two
That would be the ep 4 corpse- it's left unexplained and also too coincidentally located

Honestly, I was expecting more. And the fl is so unlikable and not one that you can relate or excuse her actions.
she's a con artist and a criminal

She's not supposed to be likeable. But she is a tool the writer uses to portray their thoughts of the elite brands and expose their real cheap con value.

Only 187 ratings, so it doesn’t take a lot to make it drop, especially if people have multiple accounts for…
Considering the fact that I've actually seen angry viewers claim to have done that.... I can believe this

However, that kind of behaviour is not simple naivety or language barrier. It's total media illiteracy and brain dead behaviour.

Sadly there's too many kdramas that are about an "ugly to beautiful" story. And sadly in Korea people…
Sadly,it's gotten worse. And exported internationally to k-media fans. With the parasocial nature of kPop/drama ships-fans, increased instances and pressure of plastic surgery despite being already good looking, over shopped glossy effect of actors in dramas/films, impossible standards for beauty - failing to meet them means harassment, however trying to meet the impossible standards "artificially" also leads to equal or more harassment.

watched it for lee jun hyuk. i wonder how that quiet guy pulled off a role of someone like seo dong jae. he was…
He's such a perfect fit for Seo Dong Jae. That was my first introduction to him and although I've loved him in sweeter boy roles like in 365, my favourite is still Dong Jae. Such a dynamic and colourful character

Also, why in the wrinkly mary roses is this rated in the 7s!!! on here ??
