Is the ending actually open ended, like they don't resolve the plot, or is it one of those netflix/disney ending…
both? The ending is kind of different from the novel. But according to someone here, the ending was apparently hinted at throughout the show... which I found more horrifying than the original ending.

Person Jin Soo Wan
ooooh she's the writer of both Kill Me Heal Me and! Chicago Typewriter??? No wonder the characters in Twinkling Watermelon are so endearing and the plot serves such an emotional punch with good messages.

lmao what kind of juvenile embarrassing comment is this? What do BWS, KSH and CEW even have to do with each other…
You're here on your apparent favourite celeb's page to supposedly hype him but your comment is all about negativity and real life scandals of other unrelated celebs and meaningless comparison as opposed to anything genuinely positive or motivating for your actual fave........

And I'm the one being negative here. Sure.

Adios. I would not want to be associated with a "fan" like you if I were in the same fandom as you.

Ah, I suppose everyone around you adores what you consider your sense of 'humour'.

Also, what a cliched reply, thanks.

Title My Demon
The biggest stain on her career”? 😂 How funny, considering My Demon wasn’t just a ratings hit it’s still…
I was just reminded of this drama from someone mentioning it on No Tail To Tell page... and what the fuck. How is that Deek guy still allowed to be lurking around here after so many years with the same disgusting comments harassing the actress with the same account ? Like what the fuck is up with MDL mods? They dead and buried?

Okay, let me rephrase. I'm not here to diss on PMY. I wouldn't have watched her dramas if I disliked her that much. But has she done several dramas in the same vibe of acting for her character where she's more or less cruising along ? Yes. I'm sure as her apparent no.1 fan you can guess the roles I'm referring to.

I don't dislike the FL actress in this current drama either. I simply made a comparison in an actor's tendency to rehash something they've already done before to find success and doing it on rehearsed autopilot.

I EDITed my original comment to be more suitable to my meaning.

How do you know what I have and have not watched ?

I clearly do not have all my watched shows listed on this mdl profile. Which maybe should be hinted at by the fact that the current drama we are discussing here is not on my MDL.

I've seen about 95% of PMY's works. In fact the only shows of her that I have NOT seen is the one with PSJ in her secretary role and that Queen character one.

Omg the MDL rating is patheticBut again the hype across all social media was non existent and i didn’t even…
So my favourite and only memorable scene in the entire drama is this one hilarious Kopiko placement (with the lead actors in their non-romance era) which happens around the first quarter of the drama.

I'm generally *really* generous with "chemistry rating", but oh my god, did these leads not have an ounce of romantic chemistry. Some of it is due to the uncanny, superficial writing. Some of it is due to the actors coasting along (FL actress is just rehashing her previous roles on autopilot the way Park Min Young tends to do in her EDIT- many romance dramas). Meanwhile the ML actor should steer widely clear of off romance roles (he may have been spitting his confession lines with rehearsed sincerity but his eyes could not look more soulless).

Someone here said that the writing has a touch of AI quality to it, and I'm starting to see it that way. It's not just standard Wattpad level poor writing that older failed romcoms have had. It's just genuinely weird. It imitates all the popular cliches and older drama scripts, but the characters don't flow naturally. I'm not even sure what the main characters full personalities are meant to be (especially the ML!).

I'm bringing up My Demon because there was a comment here comparing this to it... and whilst that drama had super old school writing.... atleast in that, the lead's chemistry and flow and reactions of the characters was natural.

The plot (along with pacing, editing and direction) here aimlessly wanders and most of the time you're not even sure there is a plot. There's some attempt at social commentary via the Gumiho vs "unseen Gods / or the humans" but it kind of falls flat. There's a whole bunch of characters- your leads, a questionable friend, a pair of villains, a friendly side squad, another cute friend/gumiho, a lecturing mystical sage....... and they all feel disconnected. Like even if they are interacting with one another, they don't really vibe together even though individually they're not too bad.

I do like some of the OSTs- (the intro theme and the ending theme from ep 1/2). FL is dressed to the nines all the way through if you're in the mood to just watch pretty people dress up. The leads are funnier when in their friendly rival/banter era. If you have absolutely nothing to watch and just want to pass time, you can give it a go.

Review Lovely Runner
Yeah, I'm not planning to watch that. I think 1 inconsistent time traveling show is enough for this year. Lovely…
I would recommend starting with Someday or One Day (the actual original sensation that Time Called You was adapted from). It's less shiny and more emotions and lower budget than kdramas, but all the praise I've seen for ATCY has been for the script, which the credit goes to the original Taiwan team. The remake, whilst it remains faithful in writing to the original SOOD, it doesn't offer anything remarkable that I would recommend when the original is an option to watch.

It's also overall far better than Lovely Runner, which is a teen romcom with a random and messy serial killer plot. SOOD on other hand has some social messages to deliver and the actual villains are unexpected. And the one killer bad guy isn't just some laughably stupid random threat. The time travel aspect- it's got a trippy psychological mindfuck sensation when watching. But once you get near to the end of the plot it comes together and makes sense and is actually pretty simple.

Review Start-Up
Oh... hey lol. This is my review on KA's (RIP🪦) drama page back when this drama was still airing and I was super frustrated at the drop of plotlines and characterisation of the ML.

Thanks mentioning a credit (my comment starts from the 100 - 0 line) , I didn't even have an mdl account back then.

whaaaat.... when did the rating for this drama drop from 9.1/9.2 to 8.8!?? This deserves to stay in the 9+ rank. Some dramas just do, no matter how old.

Try giving the original work - Someday or One Day (Taiwan drama 2019) a watch. (There was also a special movie made with the same cast+characters a year later in a similar plot. Not quite a sequel).

From what I see, most of the compliments this kdrama adaptation receives are for its script, and that is 100% copy pasted to the T from the Taiwan drama.

As an adaptation, whilst it remains strictly faithful to the original work, it also fails to add any new or personal charm. Also, imo, the FL actress in the Korean version wasn't able to fully portray the desperate grief her character holds that is her driving motivation to her actions (though I thought she'd done fine with a similar concept in her Be Melodramatic role).

Title Cringy Romance Spoiler
Who's the last Seol Ha in the end? anyone?
A totally new girl and next "Seol Ha" named victim of the ML. This time the girl is younger than him. As opposed to same age (1st SH) or older noona (2nd SH), where in both cases he was severely undermatched in terms of maturity.

However, considering the new girl's name (which signifies he that 3 whole years later the dude is still chasing a non-existent dream girl) and his argumentative and selfish personality, this new relationship is also going to be blown to bits by him.

Title Bloody Flower Spoiler
what was iyeons dads position? like why was he head of the table?
Prosecutor's dad owned a big law firm iirc (or some other big business) , from when he asked her to join him. He was one of the investors involved with Chaeum Group to support the creation of the million dollar miracle cure all. Him sitting at the head of the table at a meeting probably held at Chauem's office was likely just because he was both, the eldest person in the room (Confucian age hierarchy) and thus the most experienced CEO (compared to the second gen heirs).

I'm sure there's a part of the negative Nancy crowd that's of that mindset, the typical hate on FL types. But…
Yeah, I'm not arguing against that. Just trying to find valid reasons for why the drama audience is having a hard time liking her. Audiences often like to take one side, and with the messy direction/vague writing (we aren't given any real insight into any of the main characters), it's hard to receive a nuanced reaction.

Also, the drama has nowhere said that public opinion is totally in favour of LWG, we are given plenty of scenes that tell us that plenty of people still distrust him. There's still daily protests demanding his death penalty and egg throwing at him. Ofcourse, though, there's other powerful people behind the scenes pulling the strings that are the ones who actually allow LWG to be "free" and "treat people".

I forgot about that lmao. I was so surprised when I saw her open that cabinet and start feasting on alcohol in her little tumbler. She's literally been interrogating her suspect and going to court drunk!

Are people in the comments here annoyed by the FL’s treatment of ML (killer) because they are fans of the actor…
I'm sure there's a part of the negative Nancy crowd that's of that mindset, the typical hate on FL types. But that's never fully the case when there's overwhelming criticism.

One of the issues with how her character is perceived, is that the narrative doesn't work in her favour. We don't know her motivations and then she's set up to work against primary protagonists, in a very tricky criminal case where public favour is bound to slide somewhat towards the killer.

The drama audience is basically following the killer's lawyer's narrative. A man with a dying daughter who really wants to believe in this guy who claims to hold a miracle cure in his veins. Then you add the fact the killer has apparently only killed other heinous criminals that managed to skirt actual punishment in court......... and you get a Mad Doctor in a Robin Hood situation.

Plus, the lawyer isn't asking for the killer to walk free. Only just to not be executed/get a death sentence and allow him to treat people (his daughter). Meanwhile the prosecution- FL- is deadset on a death penalty sentencing. (the maximum sentencing possible). As opposed to even life imprisonment or anything else. (and all we're told of this motivation is her wanting to secure/further her career by putting away a "serial killer in max sentence". )

So her character is rigid and stubborn in a tricky case and also has a flair for slight arrogance in her attitude (this is canon, it's commented on by other characters).

Anyway, this is my two cents on why the FL is unpopular with the drama audience beyond the shallow petty crowd.
