How could you say CITT was his most successful when it was universally disliked. At the very least, his most successful…
PMY seems to have found her niche actually, which is the romance stuff, which has a guaranteed audience even if it’s not always a big hit.
She’ll probably keep doing that until she gets offers and her age allows for it as she can build good chemistry with her costars but doesn’t seem to want to venture out into riskier genres or break out of her mould.
I agree with your review and take on the ending. As far the actual ending goes, the characters going their separate ways was better for them as individuals. However it did feel incomplete, (and ofcourse regretfully sad) because we didn’t get to see them grow into the adults they could be and the show left enough bits to hint that they could all come into contact again which we can’t predict how it would turn out.
Anyway, I need to correct you on a typo? “Park Seo Joon was undeniably top-notch as In- Ho” Park Seo Joon is the older guy from What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim / Itaewon Class/ She was Pretty etc
Baek In Ho is played by Seo Kang Joon (Nam Shin/Nam Shin III - Are You Human Too/ When the weather is fine/ Watcher etc)
Basically if it weren’t for Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik and their really adorable chemistry together, I don’t think anyone would look back twice at this drama.
That is why I’m wary about the news of a spin-off sequel.
If you skipped a significant number of scenes and dropped this pretty early (ep 10 or is it ep 5?) I suppose you missed out on most of the actual conflict in the show.
But I simply have to contest your claim that the acting skills were bad except for LJH. SKJ, the male lead did do a commendable job on his double role, allowing the audience to easily differentiate both his characters, which were both a challenge in themselves- an AI and a human that is not inherently evil but also not good (which also pretend to be each other). Even if he has room for improvement at this stage, he did well for what he was given, at his age and experience.
For such a glowing review it has such a low rating 😅
I’ve a question regarding what you consider a notable problem with the portrayal of the NS3/Human NS. I’m not sure I’m thinking of the right plot twist here, and what you think we missed out on for NS’s reaction.
Thanks for your comment. I am well aware that sex isn't a given in every relationship( I did mention asexality…
1 - Kang So Bong wasn’t particularly shown to have interest in relationships in the first place. They made a whole point about how NS3 possibly stole her first kiss after all. So I think even if he had been a normal human, she wouldn’t have been thinking about her sex life for a long time coming. Most of their relationship is also centred around warm hugs exchanged to console each other rather than skinship or kisses. Even their kisses are not the deep French style, though no less tender and meaningful.
So in this sense I think her and NS3 were at the same place, and going forward I don’t see any reasons for them to not find ways for sexual intimacy if they ever decide they want it.
2 - The mom was used to having NS3 obey her happily and willingly all their life. So when NS3 prioritised someone else before her for the first time (an unexpected and untimely shock for her when she herself was understandably prioritising her human son) she reacted in a selfish way like “why is my creation not obeying me right when I most need/want him to”. It does not undermine her academic intelligence because she is supposed to be a flawed human who puts their own interests and greed first. David calls out her behaviour regarding this arc best, “you’re not a scientist, you’re just a bad mom”, because she ends up letting her confused and conflicting emotions govern her and not take a moment to marvel at or research into her AI developing beyond her expectations.
It’s just my genuine review and opinion. I’m free to feel however I like and have my own preferences. Whatever…
What’s with the simping fans of this show trying to impose their Opinions of this show on everyone who doesn’t dance to their tune ??
Maybe I’m just new to mdl but it’s really my first time coming across such toddler mentality where people are insulting or belittling others for not viewing things the same way they do ?
Who is? Watched this drama on air for the amount of support cast this drama has never heard or read anything against…
Did Not get exonerated. Was charged with at the least prostitution of a minor. About 20 years ago. MBC had a ban on him that they lifted in recent years.
the one thing i absolutely do not get is why is almost everyone in the show worshipping and helping a mafia member?
Writers were simping for the Italian Mafia. Decided to write their own Korean Mafia hero. And the main characters of any kdrama are always always simped after by every other character whether it makes sense or not.
why do people call this drama a comedy? so, you people laugh when others suffer, fall ill with toxic chemical,…
There’s this entire half of the drama dedicated to over the top slapstick comedy that has no base in reality and is totally removed from the thriller, death, and hard violence half of drama.
Who? I didn’t realise they were name dropping anybody, not amongst all those references they made to LJS’s…
Oh him lol. It’s the Vagabond writers, they love bait.
I thought the serial killer was like part of the references to LJS’ other roles. Something about the psycho kid murdering girls reminiscent of his VIP character.
I was rather hoping to Lee Seung Gi pop up and claim the Big Mouse title with how ridiculous and more and more underwhelming the mystery around the character was getting.
Wasted potential. They typecasted him, probably because of Vincenzo’s success and this drama’s need to cast…
Better to give his 2019 family drama a try (you can always skip to your favorite characters in family dramas). Haven’t watched it but I hear good things about his role as a DAD to a BABY. (Which I have no doubt of because he immediately caught my idea and impressed me in Reunited Worlds as also a Dad.)
As soon as Kdramas gets bogged by American TV problems, people are going to leave as fast as they came.
But thanks for destroying our joy anyway.

Uhh, as far Kdrama second seasons go, a majority of them are by OCN.
Bad Guys, Cheo Yong, God’s Quiz, Voice, Save Me, Special Affairs team 10, Missing the other side, Vampire Prosecutor….
And Times and Watcher both left an opening for a possible season 2 if the production/cast is up for it

But can’t even recommend for actual kids because of the explicit violence, psychopathic murdering characters and idealisation of a Mafia member.
