I am usually a Kdrama fan, and i have to say this drama is head and shoulders above any korean ones airing right now. well it might be neck and neck with the flying dragons :)
sweet story and suspense without a ton of blood usually ( i hate those kind)
ok this drama is really nice at episode 10. I am so looking forward to the ending. i also hope it is not depressing. Since Wu Xin is an immortal tho, i would say it has a more than average chance to be really horrifically depressing :( i don't care tho. I am going to stay with it because its too good to stop watching.
it is a surprisingly good show. it is a monster hunting show of eye candy so don't look for like insanely (gifted) written acted and directed, but it is pretty freaking great for what it is.
wu xin heartless. omg its fine
Not gonna write a big rant but please do not lump all east asian countries together on this issue. There are many…
I feel you there. I wanted to kind of rant too, but mostly because as a foreigner i have NO idea what life is like. I would be surprised if there were NOT differences between different countries.
I also am a History major. The portrayal is how women were treated for ages and ages almost everywhere. As humans tho, we are starting to notice and change this. at first it is "omg they show that on TV" and make the country portraying that feel peer pressure. women's roles change and they add more peer pressure and thus change is effected. It takes a long time. I am glad they are changing.
I just hope Asian women remain women ( strong intelligent hardy and capable) instead of doing what I feel like us American women did, tried to BE men instead of just have equality. It really set the entire movement back by ages and ages.
For a very nonstandard plot for a drama also try the eddie peng drama called honey and clover. ( http://mydramalist.com/556-honey-and-clover-drama-2008 )
I am usuually Korean drama with a small foray into jdramas. SOMEhow, i got sidetracked onto historical chinses drama, became an eddie peng fan ( listed here as peng eddie in honey ad clover LOL)and found this gem.
I really like this Drama. I like Yoon Shi Yoon's chinese voice actor too. They both did a great job. I re-watch…
no where are the subs as good as at dramanice. that V website said 100% but entire conversations were just missing. I enjoyed this drama and I REALLY appreciate the FABULOUS subs at dramanice.
The last 10 to 15 episodes ruined this show for me because so many illogical shit happened, but I had to stick…
romcom, I have to agree. I also would recommend the Journey of Flower. some delicious Chinese actors are in Sound of the Desert ( Hu Ge and Eddie Peng) Journey of Flower ( wallace Hua and several cuties too many to name) the legend of Hua Mulan with these actors Hou Meng Yao, Dylan Kuo. there are two of that name ( at least) so make sure you get the right one. Rift of the Sky and Sword of legends as well are full of sweet heeks and are really good dramas. They have a whole section of the ones from this era so I plan to watch some more and see how many ore gems I can find :) Feel free to check out my drama list for decent ones cause I wont watch em till the end if they suck!!!
I really loved this drama, mostly because of the chemistry between Huang Xiaoming and Joe Cheng. It did get a hair predictable and maybe a hair tedious, but hey if you have 40 episodes to fill, what is a girl to do? It was all worth it in the end tho. I only "rushed" about 6 episodes because I knew what the deal was. It made me feel that bitter sweet longing of when a drama is going to end, but you wish it never had to end. It is a great knot of tangled loves of family and partners and friends. But it was filmed beautifully and tastefully. And just so you know, Huang Xiaoming has the most beautiful broad shoulders and pecs and abs.. HOLY COW. and eyes to die for. Loved the drama ever so much. Oh, fight fans, the fights are great. not too often so that you want to run away, but nicely choreographed and fun and heroic YAY!!!!
I felt like it was going to be a cool microscope on some angst and personally overcoming things. it was a macro vision of that "'""at the end"'"'"'" instead of all throughout and I was saddened by the loss of complexity. I enjoyed it all anyhow but it did not go on my watch 47 times list :(
Ok I have favorite actors that I follow and all that BUT This drama is head and shoulders past the issue of who…
I believ it did because one of he fastest ways for me to drop stars is a crappy ending. That is my pet peeve. So even if a drama is awesome all the way thru then those last 30 minutes better be right on the mark OR ELSE.. and no that does not always mean it has to be a happy ending. It means it needs to make sense and offer some sort of closure. ( LOL) I HATE dramas that end with no real end. URGH!!!!
