I felt it was like a scam movie. lets make some one feels.. only they forgot to film it or cast it or act it well enough to actually MAKE any money off of it.
I love both but it's just hard to actually find jdramas sometimes. It seems like they take a long time to…
I love that about them. hahaha. and usually it is some really cool thing you needed to know but the way they go about getting you there is so insane. but, it is so much better than preaching at as person!!! I have never minded, in K, c t TH or J dramas anything unreal because!!!!! they are DRAMAS!!!
I live in the real world all day long. MEH!!
I used to be so MAD when drama fever started adding other countries to their list of drama contributors. All I wanted was Kdrama and anything else needed to get out of my face. WELL!!! all that changed for me after watching kdramas for seriously about 5-11 hours everyday.for about 5 years. I was so good in Korean I was watching the daily dramas raw. The biggest issue I had was when I did find a decent Jdorama I wanted to watch I had to wait so long for subs. Once I waited two years for a sub. I love Chinese period dramas, but it is SO hard to find them in decent video quality. I had a subscription to dramafever, dramaload, viki and crunchyroll as well as netflix and hulu when I saw they started carrying some of the kdramas. Japanese dramas are really really hard to find in any decent quantity. Cdramas are hard to find in decent quality. so much of my choices were made because of the availability. I have since ended my dramafever, dramaload and viki subscriptions because they do not offer enough of what i want to watch to make it worth it anymore. I can get most of what they show on Hulu or netflix now.
the reason it all changed for me was Nirvana in Fire. I know that soudns silly, but see, i rewatched it so many times I almost stopped watching any dramas at all. I went thru about four months of nothing but anime. then I started jdoramas, then back into cdramas ( I am a wuxia fan!!! LOVE that wuxia). I still have the same issues as before tho, getting subs or video quality. Strangely enough, now I find kdramas really hard to sit thru for the most part. even when So ji Sub or Yoo Ah In or Song Joong Ki are in them. It may just be some weird cycle everyone goes thru, and when they get burned out they just stop watching asian dramas. for me that was never an option because I just really dislike all the sex and violence on american tv anymore. i am so over it. Oh, also, I think I have become addicted to really really really beautiful looking actors. buahahhahahahaha
A lot of people are upset that this show has mediocre CGI and sets. I just don't think they give a damn. they have a story, an idea and scenario in mind and THAT is the reality they create. I respect that they are not the least bit afraid to make funky, crappy, weird, silly or cringey things. So what if it has little or nothing to do with reality? They are just admitting upfront and in your face the fact that it IS made up!!! It lets me see their most beautiful humanity. I find that Chinese fantasy dramas do the exact same thing with their flying people and their monster fights in wuxia. It is one of the things I totally love about it. Since I have started watching Asian dramas i OFTEN find myself waking up in the middle of the night laughing. not sure what was so funny, but the laughter is sweet.
I only recently discovered kimutaku and his wonderful works. I also discovered he was the voice in Howls moving castle ( Howls voice) which I thought was seriously cool.
I am more than overjoyed to find SMAP!! I had no idea it even existed. what NOOB I am! This article was a wonderful education. I went and watched some of their videos on youtube omg they were SO CUTE!! it was a lot of fun seeing them and Kimutaku in such a different light. thank you SO much for this micro-education!
this drama is amazingly great, exactly how I would imagine most women really are. some rich, some poor some with hang ups others with fears, it was awesome!!!!
I think your review left me with the insight I was looking for after reading too many of the comments before watching. I don't think there are too many westernized people who understand the passive woman role. Your remakes on strength and the explanation of their names helped me to see what I had been puzzled about over the comment section ( mostly the spoiler ones hehhe)
I'm glad that I stumbled across this post. One of the first Japanese drama that I watched. The story is great,…
been there done that, got the tee shirt (and the boxed set, and the keychain and the phone charm and the pillow ah you get it) How much fun can we have?
OK now NOW i get what all the fuss is about for Kimura Takuya hahahahha.
this is an excellent show even for todays' standards. my very most favorite trope: bad boy gone good! awwwww
Wow one of my first reviews, and it's pretty damn crappy lol. I should fix that one of these days. Sorry about…
This drama is a scream. how much fun can we have? I just wish I could find it SOMEWHERE in decent video quality *cries* ep 4, painfully watching it in 360 or maybe even less.. AAARGH
