the fact the company gave cotton candy two songs and a house then blamed them for flopping pisses me off!!! no wonder hyunji was always screaming at the CEO
Yoooo I cried so bad when she even told Jenna not to leave her since she doesn’t have anyone else. Her and Jenna…
Personally im hoping for no romance at all in the show bc i think thats what makes most sense, but im neutral on both couples tbh bc the ceo gets on my nerves and jihan is like... young as hell. but the relationship between the girls is genuinely gold like it feels so human esp for a group whos failing... when things are good theyre great but when things get bad all the ugliness in all of them comes out. AND SAME jenna and hyunjis scene in the shower made me cry real tears because my hurt literally aches for both of them... hyunji relies so much on jenna and jenna loves hyunji soooooo much its crazy i want all the girls to be happy so badly bc its so obvious that their situations are the reason their relationship has deteriorated...
seems to be a pretty unpopular opinion but hyunji is by far my favorite character in this drama and maybe one of my all time favs. She is soooo interesting... shes one of the only characters I've ever seen in idol shows who actually grew up poor. She was raised by an alcoholic father and forced to provide for him and his addiction with money then grew up in an orphanage and worked to hone in her skills and be the best she could be only to have her group be completely neglected causing her to become bitter. Honestly yes she is a brat but i think it makes so much sense for her character... unlike jenna she doesn't want to humiliate herself because she has already been at the very lowest point and treated by society as nothing and she wont put herself through that humiliation again because she knows appealing herself to things like that wont work from experience. While jenna has a very kind heart, she was also raised in a situation that allowed that kind and hopeful heart to thrive. Hyunji is sad and scared and embarrassed the whole show so far because she knows that no one is on her side, no one wants her to succeed, and she refuses to be like jenna and take all opportunities because this group was her trying to change that constant fact in her life before being in cotton candy. My heart really breaks for her especially because irl most of the idols who end up succeeding do have backings, they have money and the ability to afford being an idol. Hyunji has nothing. Working in bars and drinking so heavily makes sense for her because she feels like that was all she was meant to become... i want her to be happy so badly shes deserving of so much more :(
I loved so much about this show, they diverted so many tropes. Moohak is so emotionally mature and he's just the funniest, he's amazing. And Dali is so strong, so capable and and such a genuine person i was always rooting for her... The supporting cast (minus the villains and moohaks family) were all so loveable and charming. In the first half i considered dropping because it was so sad but I'm so happy i stuck it out, this show is such a gem. Everything that a romcom should be with a perfect balance of everything.... I wish we got more shows like this
Best couple of the year and the ABSOLUTE BEST cinematography and editing I've seen from a drama in an extremely long time... I'm going to miss this show a lot :(
Here come all the social justice warriors and privledged international fans thinking their opinion matters, crying…
'made for koreans' SO WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY BRING UP A STEREOTYPE OF BLACK PEOPLE? korea does not exist in a vacuum, there are black people in korea, they have access to the internet. this was a CHOICE
