Lucky to have binged watched 1 & 2 this weekend. Enjoyed it although it did raise my blood pressure. A part of me is like, end it here don't want to see any of our leads die in the future seasons, then I saw the second post credit. I have a crush on the actor and would certainly like to see him shirtless 😄

Agree. Dilreba fits the role well. Arthur's acting is off at times. I have to laugh at the general scenes when he walks and puffs out his chest

I saw a funny post. Basically it says users of Douyin said the male actors should thank the director for making them look good as normally they have exaggerated expressions but the director known for his camera angles and lighting made them look dreamy.
Now we know why everyone was so dreamy

Chemistry is the immediate spark BEFORE the romance. That scene had the best set up for it and I felt nothing. I like both actors and have read the novel, it's not there at least for this episode.

But they didn't have chemistry ....not yet 😭

Can I say, I love the princess. Her introduction was weak but I don't mind her scenes. Her facial expressions are also pretty good

I also hate the rushed editing. They do not linger on scenes the audience need to invest in and breath. Korean dramas on the other hand these days lack substance. Mostly well edited package of nothing

I think the reason the beginning was so well received is because it also stuck closely to the novel. Now we are in the wrap up era I'm afraid. I once said Chinese stories are so good at world building they become too big for the screen.

The latest episodes made me all kind of crazy I don't know where to begin. I was screaming 'kill' during the battle scene...if my neighbours thought I was crazy they certainly do now. The changes they made is more heartbreaking for our female lead but good story telling.

I am rereading the novel and noticed something important. In the beginning when he was injured he had many reasons to conceal his identity. The main reasons were:
1. His enemies
2. The opinion of common people (he had a rep of being brutal).
But as FCY explained when she spoke good things about him in front of the
memorial tablet, common people do not hate the Marquis.
His mistake of course which he will explain soon is he lost the opportunity to tell her and let it drag on.

I do not know why people are criticizing the female leads mentally...sure she made some questionable decisions but she was brought up in a village living a simple life. Never in her wildest dreams would she think the Marquis will marry her and lied time and time again. Her actions are quite reasonable mostly although they did mess up the prisoner thing. It was much better in the book how she got the food.
