Title Reset
Masterfully crafted story full of suspense, mystery and cliffhangers.
It was worth every minute and time-loop of it!

Title Homestay
An interesting film about second chances & reevaluating the meaning and significance of life, however overbearing it may seem.
On Moonlight Shadow Feb 11, 2022
An artistic, elegantly subtle film about grief, based on a short story by Banana Yoshimoto.
The atmosphere, the narration, the aesthetics were superb, but eventually it was a one-woman-show: Komatsu Nana's impressive performance overshadowed everything else!
On Love's in Sight! Feb 8, 2022
Cuteness overload!
A refreshing, bright, wholesome rom-com, with a delicate touch of coming-of-age, family, friendship and social awareness.
A great watch :)
On Boku no Aruku Michi Feb 6, 2022
A beautiful, warm and inspiring story, about the every day life of an autistic young man living with his family and working as an animal caretaker in a zoo.
Kusanagi Tsuyoshi portrayed the demanding role of Teruaki flawlessly, with a subtle and realistic approach, while the rest of the cast, especially Teruaki's mother, depicted beautifully their struggles and worries while supporting him.
Though dealing with a difficult, challenging subject, the story never becomes overly melodramatic or distressing, and the tears it may cause are tears of pride and accomplishment rather than pity or misfortune.
Highly recommended!
On Stairway to Heaven Feb 3, 2022
A classic makjang, with all the typical frustrating & unrealistic cliches, some really infuriating characters and a lot of illogical plot tropes and actions, but somehow so nostalgic and welcoming...

Title The Police Box Spoiler
I didn’t get it 😭
let's just say it was a love triangle between those three protagonists ^^
On All of Us Are Dead Feb 1, 2022
Binge-able and enjoyable as a one-time watch, but nothing very memorable, mainly due to the weak writing that couldn't make most of the characters (who were too many, unnecessarily annoying and poorly fleshed out) meaningful or worthy to root for.
On Drive My Car Jan 30, 2022
Title Drive My Car
A quiet, slow and contemplative road-movie about love and loss, grief, guilt, solitude, longing, solace and human connection.
With a brilliant blending of Murakami and Chekhov's worlds, this was an absorbing experience in spite of its long duration, mainly due to the beautifully nuanced, reserved performances of its two protagonists.
On Racket Boys Jan 29, 2022
Title Racket Boys
A feel-good and heartwarming coming of age story about friendship, teamwork and character growth - and badminton!
Though overdramatic and cheesy sometimes, it was an engaging watch, with a well-balanced amount of comic and touching moments.
On Shabon Dama Jan 28, 2022
Title Shabon Dama
Tender and subtle story about acceptance, healing, repentance and how a warm hug can change someone's life.
Beautiful rural landscapes and a very heartwarming obachan :)
On Woman in the Dunes Jan 27, 2022
Full of existential symbolisms and allegories, provocatively erotic, hauntingly claustrophobic, absorbingly hypnotic. A unique cinematic experience, worthy of every praise!
On Fighter Jan 27, 2022
Title Fighter
Impressive performance from Im Sung Mi in a quiet, subtle and realistic depiction of the social discrimination issues North Koreans -and women in particular- have to face, as they search for a place to fit in.

Title Okashi no Ie
A cozy slow-paced and laid-back slice of life drama, about the beauty of simple things in life, the comfort of hanging out with our childhood friends, the warmth of being our true selves with our loved ones, and the bitter-sweetness of growing up and leaving our childhood selves and memories behind.
Outstanding acting, especially from Odagiri Joe and a touching, meaningful ending song.
