Balancing between pop and new age optics, with stunning cinematography and two very familiar theme songs, this artistic, melancholic movie is a powerful portrayal of empty-hearted, confused, lonely and thirsty for love people in the crowded, vibrant corners of Hong Kong.
Wonderful first article! What an interesting and cute topic! Congrats ♥ Thank you for all the cat dramas recommendations. I've watched 3 of the dramas you introduced and 5 from the extra ones. From the rest, I find Neko Zamurai and My Lonely Planet very interesting xD
I'm amazed at how you described it. If someone asked me I'd say boring yet intriguing. Or boring and yet not boring.…
Haha! No matter our different perspectives, it sure grabbed our attention till the end, and that's something good xD I agree, the -on purpose- mundane atmosphere and colouring and the subdued cinematography and acting probably make it difficult for many people to enjoy it but, like you, I did find it intriguing and my time well-spent.
A slow-paced, subdued and poignant film dealing with the emotional and social resignation, grief, guilt, redemption, crime and retribution, making amends and finding a glimpse of hope. The melancholic, compassionate and slow-burn narration, combined with the impressive performances from the main leads (especially Kim Dae Geon who is amazing as a young adult robbed of his childhood), make this grey-toned film a memorable experience.
Dearest @3GGG, you know by now that I really, really love your articles!
The information, the visuals and, especially, the infographics are once more top-notch! Kudos for the time and effort you put in this awesome outcome xD
An underrated wonderful romcom, with one of the most believable, realistic relationships in k-dramaland for a long while. Se Ra and Gong Myung's romance felt genuine and well-fitted for their age and environment. I'll definitely miss Nana's heartfelt laugh and Park Sung Hoon's adorable smile xD
A phenomenal performance from Go Ah Sung as the historical figure Yoo Kwan Soon, an important figure in Korea’s history, one of the organizers of the March 1st Movement against the colonial occupation, who, even during her imprisonment, refused to submit to the Japanese threats and tortures and inspired other prisoners and people on the outside. While this film does not add anything new to the well-established legend and mainly focuses on portraying Yoo Kwan Soon as a martyr, rather than a member of the Korean resistance, it’s helpful for younger viewers and foreigners to understand better Korea’s struggle for independence.
A slow-paced, insightful portrayal of womanhood and motherhood through the study of different family shapes and problems. Despite the somewhat incohesive narration and editing, this film successfully depicts the diversity of motherhood and how broadly the concept of family bonding can be interpreted. The nuanced acting from the cast delivers smoothly its main messages concerning the strong, unbreakable mother-daughter bond, the not-always-bad decision of giving one’s child for adoption and the fact that family has not necessarily to do with blood ties, but with love and acceptance.
With one of best Eric Mun's roles ever, this unique drama was a pleasant oldie surprise! Excellent cast and music, refreshing dialogues and some of the most surprisingly grey, flawed, twisted, realistic and sexy characters in dramaland. It definitely has its flaws, cliches and melo-makjang moments but, overall, it's an entertaining, underrated drama.
Set in a magnificent snowy Hokkaido, this heartwarming and bittersweet coming-of-age film tells the story of two lonely teenagers who find friendship, companionship and love through music. Yamazaki Kento and Hashimoto Ai have great chemistry and depict their awkward relationship beautifully.

Different genre, but equally entertaining xD
