It's a fast paced romance but at the same time super slow. Though they have been dating over a month, total time of being in real relationship is probably less than 24 hours, including chatting time.
Different female lead? Hmm.. I wonder how the story will pan out in second season. He Han did promise not to marry anyone else except Luo Zijun. Now I'm not sure if I want to watch story where He Han breaks his promise.
Oh, don't you think the title should be "the second half of my life", since by then they'll be in their 40s. ^^
I'm on my 18th ep and cannot get my head around this Lu Chen Xi. Immaturity in a great talented doctor is a dangerous thing, plus arrogance - the playing God thing, relying too much on her ability. Case by case, and I just cant help but thinking - as a doctor, she's not very logical, is she. She continues to think with her heart (the reckless emotional short-fused heart) not with her brain. Sigh.. I have to skip a lot of her scenes arguing with Zhuang Shu, because I can't bear to listen to her talks. Zhuang Shu is the ideal doctor here (not sure if such doctor actually exist). He is the total opposite of LCX. I agree with most of his arguments, they are logical, well-thought, and genuinely trying to look for the best possible solution for everyone. Oh well...
Edit: Dropping this after 25, then randomly chose an episode and see the same thing again. I can not.
For someone who is rational, why would she offer Dohwa the chance to date her in certain days of the week? LOL…
LOL... Of course it's not right to date two people at the same time. I'm not saying I agree with that. I'm just saying it's what I think Ju Da would think. She loves both men and she doesn't want to lose either one but cannot make decision. In desperate moment, that's what she suggested. That's why her scene with Dohwa is her best since she is clear with what she wants and stick to it.
Also, Danoh and Ju Da are two different people. What Ju Da might be thinking is not the same with what Danoh is thinking. From the beginning, Danoh is very clear with what she wants - she wants Haru. Ju Da, well.. she might choose Nam Ju because she wants to protect him, or rule over him, or shape him into the man that she wants. Who knows... Not everybody can be Danoh.
Agree!! I like drama that makes you think, not just about the plot or the characters but what goes beyond the story. One thing I notice from this drama is how valuable time is. Time is limited in scenes. Haru and Danoh for example has to make do with their time together between shadow and stage because any moment they can be transported to stage time. It might be different now that they're just extras. Yet, though they have more 'free time' as in no need to be on stage and act according to what the writer wants, being extras means they are also in danger of getting 'erased' anytime. Time again is important for them.
For someone who is rational, why would she offer Dohwa the chance to date her in certain days of the week? LOL…
LOL.. that's the brain talking. Why only date 1 man when you can date 2! Anyway.. the part where she made it clear with Dohwa in the end was her best moment. Dohwa can find happiness anywhere, Nam Ju cannot. His happiness depends on her. Isn't odd that everybody gain their awareness except for Nam Ju? Perhaps that's why Ju Da chose Nam Ju. In a weird way, Ju Da might see his 'innocence' as something worth protecting for. Poor Nam Ju, I dont think even in the next manga he will gain his awareness.
Whether it's a happy ending, sad ending, open ending.. it depends on how you see it. It's happy ending because Haru and Danoh can find each other eventually - even if it takes, gosh... dunno how long. It's sad ending, because Haru and Danoh will forever be in this circle - whether as extra or main characters or secondary characters. Their 'lives' will always be like this: new manga > finding awareness > together > end manga > new manga > awareness > and on and on and on. Is it sad because they'll be forever trapped? Tragic? Open? You decide. The optimistic in me think as long as they're together, it's a good thing, no matter what obstacles they have to face.
I like Ju Da. She's very rational in love, and realistic as well. I think it's refreshing to see. Most girls think with their heart not their head - not that it's wrong, of course. Good things can happen from loving someone with all your heart, but loving with your head may last longer.
I love this drama! I find both leads very attractive and quite natural. Guanlin's LYN is calm and cool headed but very innocent when it comes to expressing love. I like how wise he is despite his young age. He always do and say things right. Like for example when XMM hesitant whether to transfer course or not, LYN gave meaningful input (despite his jealousy!) Angel Zhao as FL also manages to portray the naive pure-hearted XMM well. Maybe because she has years of acting experience or maybe because she herself is still young so that's why she is able to act naturally. Anyway.. I enjoy both leads and the whole cast as well. Looking forward for the ending and then re-watch period!
What's with BK's brother? Why do I have a feeling that he'll have major part later to 'destroy' Haru-Danoh. He's a big believer on not changing things and very much on BK's side. Hmmm...
Great chemistry between two leads! You can just feel it oozes from them. Great soundtrack! Not sure about the pacing and editing though, a bit choppy. But overall OK
Baek Kyung being Baek Kyung. He has a lot of emotions bottled up inside him and doesnt know how to express them 'normally'. Taking his POV, I think he's being such a jerk because that's the only thing he knows how to do. He's clinging to Dan Oh because she's HIS, as in his past present and future, and the fact that the writer keep making her his fiancee in both setting gives him the permission to act crazy possessive.
I'm curious about the story from the writer's side when the stage keeps changing. I picture how the manga creator drew storyboard and actually drew different scene and got confused, "Again? Why why did I draw this?!?! Aarrgghh....!!!" *hair-pulling. He probably thinks he's gone mad.
Anyhow, just thinking out loud, from the writer's POV: Seeing that Baek Kyung seems to be his favorite, he must have a plan for Baek Kyung. Assuming the story line that the writer intends to write is this: Main character (Baek Kyung) who's mean and abusive, but turns out to be sincere and gentle at the end because the power of love (Dan Oh?) and they will have a happy ending. The writer perhaps only plan for Haru to be the SL, just like Dohwa.
If that's the case, Dan Oh is the key to change Baek Kyung's fate. And the fact that the stage keeps changing, even from the first book, the writer has never seen the ending that he wants. That's why he's trying again with Secret, not being very creative about it though since he uses same characters same lines same setting.
But now Dan Oh and Haru are changing the stage again. Question is will the writer got frustrated and zap the second book and restart with a third; or will he give in with and change the ending for Haru and Dan Oh; or worst... will he kill off Dan Oh and give a tragic ending to Baek Kyung.
Since Nam Joo is gone for now, is it still possible for Joo Da and Do Hwa to get together since they like each…
He can't be gone. He's the main character in the manga. Something will bring him back, or perhaps taking the cliche storyline, Joo Da will chase Nam Joo and ask him back.
Park Na Rae surprises me! So many skills. She's like my Mom! My fave kid is Grace, super chic with hair flying everywhere and totally logical - can't bluff her! Love love love.

I'm still okay with Ju Da. I have other characters in other drama that I reaaally can't stand.

LOL, you can't stand Ju Da right? ^^
