lol. but yes you may be right about 1st billing since that reliable melon owner put his name first. netizens on weibo are already complaining that he shouldn’t get top billing over a senior actress

i see what you’re saying and i do understand. and yes we all want that for him but like he also said, he’s not going to give up on idol dramas either so clearly he plans on trying out all genres and there’s nothing wrong with that.

we also all have our preferences and me personally i just don’t find non romance suspense cdramas interesting. I do prefer romance tropes but it’s not up to me he makes his own decisions. my personal wish is just for all his dramas no matter the genre, to be either good ips, with known actors or a high level production team. to avoid more failed dramas

not a fan of these kinds of genres with no romance trope so I’m not necessarily excited for this drama but it’s his decision at the end of the day and we support it.
hopefully fraud-qiyi doesn’t do him dirty again and production is atleast S level, with a competent director & screenwriter. I also hope he’s not 2nd billing. huge respect to the senior actress but she’s not exactly a-list. there’s no hype or traffic for the drama and chances of flopping seem high. really don’t know why fandom is so excited for it. “he’ll be taken seriously as an actor” well.. okay then.

For serious genres though I think he should do movies.
(btw im still holding out hope for the tencent ceo modern drama. hoping he films it after this drama. some of you don’t like it but a few plot tweaks by a good screenwriter and trust we’ll have a masterpiece on our hands)

I’d rather not get into the whole resources declining thing on his public mdl but there’s obvious reasons why I say that is the case beyond business shootings that could very well be for c-level brands. I’d however love to be proven wrong though. always rooting for him & hoping for the best

anyway back to your point about the director, so I guess we’re indeed back to a possible twot repeat yet again lol. Iqiyi truly cannot be trusted and I will d*e on this hill. one would hope he learned a valuable lesson to stay away from this platform after how disastrous twot turned out but that doesnt seem to be the case.
or prioritize high/above average production levels and a solid crew as a negotiation draw for accepting future projects given his history but gramarie will always be useless it seems. let’s see though after official announcement before the rants begin

btw for those who are unaware, czy fell and broke his collarbone on Jan 29th (halfway through filming). he had to have major bone surgery done and only rested less than a week before he had to resume filming again. endured the pain through it all to not delay production and finished filming successfully. that’s his level of work ethic. we’re so proud of him

yeah i wouldn’t be surprised. china & their censorship guidelines may not allow the level of emotional abuse depicted in the novel to air but personally I hope it’s not completely diluted. defeats the whole purpose of the plot plus i really want to see czy in a role like this. the green flag characters are getting redundant

their reasoning is quite baffling to me. it’s like saying hollywood actors should pick roles based on morals. it doesn’t work that way.
a character is just that, a character. the more diverse the more you can show off your range the better. if girls choose to worship a red flag character why should that affect him in real life. cnetz would have to be dumb to attack him because of that.
the novel is apparently somewhat popular too so I hope production is strong and he accepts the drama. I remember reading the plot for this drama last month and I got very excited. if not for the dlist rookie fl melon I would have been counting down to filming already
