If she really has someone behind her then they should secure an S level production team for this drama, if not fl should change or czy should pick another drama with a known fl in equal billing or a strong production team.
accepting a low budget modern drama with a d-list rookie fl at this point in his career is just career death sentence. especially after how poorly twot did. he’ll just be a stepping stone to boost her popularity, meanwhile further regressing his own career. Only a useless agency like gramarie would allow this.
By the way, wasn’t wangchuran the fl for this drama before xukai dropped out? she probably would have accepted the fl role with czy if not for the fandom fights and accusations brought up last year.

anyway I don’t think this melon is accurate. bao shangen just started filming a drama last month and won’t be done until June, and I don’t think czy is planning on taking a 3 month break until June.

looked her up and she’s mostly an unknown rookie with no popular dramas. she must have resources and connections if tencent is pushing her as fl in all their recent dramas

as much as I hate iqiyi and prefer tencent for czy, a beautiful destiny melon with txw may have been better. since production was very high.
if we can’t get a known fl for cross the ocean of time with tencent, production will be c-level unfortunately. most probably an amateur/c-level director & scriptwriter.

I was hoping he would pick this drama, cross the ocean of time to love you is a good choice. we’ve never seen him in a ceo playboy role so it’ll be fun but who is the female lead?? she’s gorgeous but I’ve never heard of her. I hope a d-list female lead doesn’t bring down production level like twot.. he really needs a solid production crew

i don’t think there’s an issue and I would be surprised if he’s really leaving gramarie.
But if that’s really the case then if czy has to fight them in the court, then he shouldnt be afraid and fight. 10 years is more than enough for a useless agency like that. they’ve regressed his career enough. fight them and move to a better agency that have the resources and connections to manage him well.

I guess I meant more on twitter maybe, the first frost tag does have some popular posts. but yeah it definitely goes to show hl’s success can’t be replicated. hl was just so much of a feel good drama and people crave that. very attractive leads with explosive chemistry from start to end. so many factors came together to make it the hit it was especially globally.

yeah the plot is just as cliche & plagiarized as the rest of them but the ip is very popular so every fandom wants their actor to get the role
(though I don’t think it’s fair to judge the fl in such a misogynistic way. she didn’t choose that life for herself. circumstances made it that way)

not surprised. for all the hype & comparisons to hl I tried to keep up with the episodes but its honestly very boring. keeps falling flat and dragging. started off okay but somewhere in the middle it lost me. maybe the later episodes will be better

lol i just saw the melon too and came to post it here. I’ve been praying for years that he gets the drama but im sure it’s fake. the description of the visuals of the male lead is literally prince feng, only czy can pull it off.

I haven't read pearl eclipse. I've only read valerian flower.
From what I know though, valerian flower is not exactly a sequel that follows the same story of pearl eclipse. its a standalone story with some characters from the main story.
valerian flower is also very short and mostly summarized. In this one, tilan is a relative of emperor zhongxu's dead wife, not qianzi's sister. tilan and his dead wife look very identical so the emperor marries tilan even though tilan is in love with general tang qianzi. tang qian zi has no ex wife here. qianzi, tilan and prince jichang grew up together as friends in the palace. i think the chasing dreams screenwriter will probably change of a lot of things for the drama so it's probably best to watch as a clean slate.

about to start this and im wondering if it's better than the original. the chinese version is one of my top dramas ever

yeah I get what you mean but i still find these genres very unappealing. he can seek out prestigious roles without playing similar period detective characters repeatedly. change up characters so fans have something to look forward to.
