how was it downsized to mere infatuation tho? she's literally out there risking her life to save him, going against someone she fears (ML) to defend him, and in tonight's episodes she'd cry buckets because she hurt him. i personally think the writers did their best to condense the novel to pass censorship while giving justice to the story.
i was watching this when story of kunning palace dropped. now I'm binging this while waiting for new episodes of sokp to come out.
i love that this is lighter in plot than sokp but just as intriguing and engaging. the villains are doing a marvelous job and the plot twists are actually unpredictable. the chemistry of ml and fl is also there, and the 2nd leads adds so much to the plot and don't compete with the main cp.
this is zlh's debut work and i can say he's actually performing so much better than others I've seen. seeing his improvement in sokp is a delight especially when he already did well here.
jxn and zz can never be an item in their 2nd life when jxn can't forgive herself for what happened in the past.…
also, i just realized why xw treated her well once they got into the capital 4 yrs ago. he even gave her a special nickname as a jiang family daughter. he probably sees himself in her, forsaken in another place while another one enjoys the luxuries and love that should've been theirs. that's poetically tragic... can't wait to see them with their own family ❤️
jxn and zz can never be an item in their 2nd life when jxn can't forgive herself for what happened in the past. the pain, regret and guilt are obviously still very fresh for her. what happened to his mother will always haunt her.
if zz reincarnated in the drama too then i feel like that was him wanting to start a new leaf with jxn, that's the vibe i was getting from him. if he didn't reincarnate, i feel like he won't formally start anything with her unless everything is resolved - the rebellion, xdf identity, etc.
xw is used to being a man of action, always thinks of 5 different solutions for any problem. if there's a chance for jxn he'll definitely take it and that's where he differs from zz. for romance, jxn has nothing to haunt her about xw.

actually that whole time xw was sitting there is a series of powerful scenes. his sickness worsens and he had to see his absolute trash of a father pamper that goblin xue ye while he was esily sacrificed back then. even when xw acts like he's unaffected that sht must hurt still. then jxn comes in, gives him some real talk and basically his self-pity worsens since now he's gonna compare himself to godlike zz lol
xw is just a ball of jumbled emotions right now, it must be irritating for him to see how easily jxn reads him 😆
