agree and even though he's young AND a rookie his approach to acting is very mature. his bearing as xie wei is quite convincing for someone who's supposed to be older than the other characters. yeah getting typecasted can be harmful but since he's still young and versatile it can be useful to play a few more roles where he'd excel. he's becoming one of my faves quickly hah ❤️

imo the pacing is much better in the last 4 eps or so. there are scenes where the transition could be better but eh, it's fine. i really like eps 19&20 wrt to SY and ZSY. i also like the relationship with lao guan and zsy's boss. i was already having a headache with qsy pursuing prof yu relentlessly now brs and gj is getting on my nerves too lol another headache.

the more we get to know prof yu the more i like him. i feel like if zsy was emotionally available then he wouldn't mind actually getting into a relationship with her. but since she's not and he knows sy likes her he stepped back immediately. then he also calmly talked to bruce while expressing his disappointment. he's so level-headed i too would have a fat crush on him 🤭

poor SY tho, this was a massive blow to him this time.

xie wei better walk his talk of hiding his true feelings bc it's getting more and more obvious lmao even those naive ladies noticed his own special way of addressing jxn 🤭

and his crew in sokp reminds me of his crew in mjty lol so chaotic but loyal

for those who understand chinese, what's the context when xie wei said "we can't let his coming of age ceremony become a disaster again"? that 'again' bothers me lol was he just referring to the series of unfortunate events with yan family or would it allude to him possibly being reincarnated too? also his answer to jxn's question about who's better than her past and present self seems to be loaded...

lol yeah but what I meant is they might drag it like the novel then have an abrupt turn. but so far their adaptation is good so I'm more positive they'd make a convincing transition of jxn's affection. this drama has me in a chokehold lol
