I know this is really way way far from the drama....but while watching this drama...the ML, Yuichiro Kitano (Saito Takumi) reminds me so much of Li Daren (Chen Bolin) from In Time With You. Ok, don't get me wrong, Li Daren is nothing like Kitano's role (cheating husband) but the way that they are dressed up, the hair and the character too..like mild mannered, thoughtful and very sweet man, they are kind of played alike..I don't know, just me...the whole time I was watching Kitano, I was just thinking of Li Daren and how considerate he was...these are 2 very far apart dramas, just the actors, how they were built up for the roles is kinda similar...
I don't know about you fellow drama fans, but I am getting greedy, it seems like 2 episode is not gonna cut it for me, I am starting to watch the original parent story, Hirugao...I just wanna know where this drama is going and what will be the feels of the story...But of course, I will still continue to watch this drama, 2 episodes per week...
Ok, so I super love this drama...And I like cheating dramas...I am sure in real life this happens a lot, so I am not afraid to explore these kind of dramas... So anyway, since I am quite mad that this particular drama just has 1 episode per week, unlike other dramas have 2 episode per week, what I do is: watch the RAW episode with no subs at all, even partial. Then wait another day for the full episode to have full subs. In that way, I feel that I have watched 2 episodes a week. That is how I survive only 1 episode per week...*sigh*
i have watch 2 episode but i dont know why the reason chu ke huan have a feelings for zho wei wei. is it because…
This is just my opinion: I guess, Kehuan is just fascinated by a woman who is so stingy with money (remember when Weiwei chased that receipt for reimbursement of the taxi ride) while his gf at that time, the very extravagant and wasteful Ziyuan just spends his money and not have a job...maybe that where it started...then Kehuan got WeiWei's diary then the matchmaking party, then the karaoke booth...like, things or coincidences just kept happening to further his interest in Weiwei...then things got an explanation like the bf of Weiwei made her do it...the super stingyness, miser and the extreme budgeting...while he, Kehuan is just a money making machine....I guess, opposites attract then things got deeper, the feelings...
I patiently waited for 1 ep only each week at 25 mins only per ep for this drama to end only like this? They did not get into a relationship and FL is ok with that? ML is still abnormal till the end? Jeez what a foolish drama. But I’m the bigger fool to expect things to get better somewhere somehow. FL is so weak and weird. ML is kinda autistic but sly. I feel he’s pretending to be dumb so he can get sex. *ranting*
I appreciate your article so much that I want to add some other points on how I got over my drama slump a few months ago. I felt like I was burned out from watching too many dramas at a time, I watched like 10 ongoing dramas, then some old dramas I haven't seen (I just became active with drama watching again in 2015 so I had a lot to catch up at that point). Just for reference, I only watched Korean dramas and Taiwanese dramas at first. But not anymore...
I, of course, took a break, like 1 week of no dramas or watching at all. (for other people they can do 2 weeks or even a month, depending on what feels comfortable)
1.) Then when I felt I missed watching something, I picked an unlikely country that I will watch, in my case, Japan, and I only watched their movies. My reasoning behind it is: at-least with a movie, I will finish it in an hour or so and its done. Unlike with a drama, I will have to finish it for days and it will kill me not to watch the next episode, because of the cliffhangers. But with a movie, just one sitting, you're done.
2.) I also ventured into Lakorns or Thai, I started watching the movies they had on Netflix, then eventually, started looking into their other popular Rom-Com. The language you hear is really difficult to accept at first, but I am so concentrated on the Eng Subs anyway, so it didn't matter.
3.) I also joined some drama groups on facebook or any other social media where you will see comments of other people which dramas, or movies are hot, then check it out yourself for the summary on non other that here, at mydramalist, then decide for yourself its worth starting or not.
4.) I also use the "Recommendations" feature of every drama or movie, here on my dramalist: like you know when you are here looking at the summary page of a drama or movie, on top there is: Details, Casts, Recommendations, and so on. Click on the Recommendations tab and you will see some similar dramas that might interest you if you are really unsure what to watch next. Other users of mydramalist will give you a description why they feel that a certain drama is similar to the drama that you are looking at. I do give my contributions from time to time so that I can help other drama addicts like myself.
5.) I also randomly look into youtube videos of drama trailers or you know the lists sometimes provided like "10 best korean drama rom-coms for 2018" or "10 best chinese dramas for beginners" something like that. Just watch through it, it may be helpful on picking up your next drama binge.
6.) Also here on my dramalist, there are some lists of users that appear on the left side, something simillar my no. 5 above, when you are scrolling the site. Then they have access to each drama page and they come in similar genres too. Like rom-com or historical. Something like that.
Anyway, this is getting too long now. With no disrespect to the author of the article above, these are just additional pointers to those who are in a drama slump and just meant to help like your original article aims to do. Thank you.
Just watched ep 7, I find the girl dumb already. guy just used her for his own benefit, girl is expecting something more just because of what happened between them. guy was clear from the start that he is just asking for favors to bring his "bodily reaction" back, so he can get his confidence in other aspects of life too. in my opinion, girl should have just said no, if she cannot handle that kind of physical intimacy without commitment.
The suspense is getting intense each episode, the way the suspense was when I was watching Discovery of Romance... each episode just leaves you shocked but this is milder version of DOR
This is a cute very short drama...it took me by surprise! Like a short cut of all those 16 episodes dramas that we are used to watching...with all the cute feels and jealousy and drama...you get what I mean...plus the actors are all good looking...Watch it!
This movie disappointed me. I watched some clip of it on Youtube, under Asian Crush post, then I watched the whole movie. I thought she was gonna wind up with the ballerina man, but instead with the policeman! plus the story itself is very shallow! waste of time!
I watched A Poem A Day, and it was awesome! I also feel that is was underrated. No one really watches it even if I recommended this. I started watching Falling for Innocence and Please Come Back Mister, but somehow dropped them. Maybe I will go back and continue them. Maybe I was just at the point that it will get exciting soon but I stopped. So I missed it. The rest, I will try my best to check them out, but I have heard of them before, I just ignored them or did not have time for them, or they did not attract my interest that much at that time.
I simply love this article! I am now intrigued by the book! I am just now enlightened that the drama was inspired by a very good book. As you can see from my profile pic, I am a very big fan of Kim Soo Hyun and it was inspired with this very drama, "My Love from the Star!" It is my top 1 favorite drama. Thank you so much for this article!
I think there are already several Kdramas that are kind of patterned with Sex and the City already. But they had to make it super subtle. A Gentleman's Dignity for instance, was done using "men" because if it were women, Korea is still quite conservative in a way. Then there is also I Need Romance 1. It was like a Sex and the City themed too. I know there are more, but I just can't remember from the top of my head.
I am getting a mix of My Love from the Star and Strong Woman DBS vibes here. I mean, the title itself is "star" so it means...like the one is MLFTS, I guess... just my first impressions on 2 episodes
I have this random thought...like, its related but not related...Well, since we are on the topic of "robots" on this drama...you know how on "Absolute Boyfriend" (that Taiwanese drama of a robot boyfriend which stars as the female lead is the korean actress Go Hye Sun and Jiro Wang), the robot boyfriend is for sale...Well, I want a NamShin3 boyfriend to buy!!! No offense to Jiro Wang character, but I like a Korean namja...hehehe...I want the exact NS3 for an "absolute boyfriend" with all his gentlemaness, kindness and usefulness (imagine him being able to check my BP before and after working out...like the MCar...) and of course, I am not denying, I like that face and body too!!! Just keeping it real
After watching 4 episodes of this drama, it reminded me of the plots of the American movies "Hitch" and "The Ugly Truth"...Hitch because the male lead, Nam Goong Min's character is an expert in love and like The Ugly Truth because he also differentiates the difference of how men and women see love. Something like that...its like a mash up of characters. Then the female, is also like the one in Hitch, and also the female in the Ugly Truth. If you have watched those movies, you will know what I am talking about. Anyway, just my opinion. I have nothing against it. I am a really big fan of Nam Goong Min Oppa. There are a lot of Oppa's but he just has a special place in my heart. Hope this drama will not disappoint till the end. Oh and by the way, the 2nd male lead, is the boyfriend of Park Shin Hye. I knew he looked rather familiar. And handsome too.
Subbed finally!!!!
