I’ve seen so many mindless people defending Beomseok in Instagram reels and comment sections, so I’m rewatching…
that's because there's 0 justification for what beomseok did to suho. i could understand his initial anger from the karaoke incident where suho stopped him from beating up his old bullies, but rational people would cool off and talk to their friends or just stop being friends at all. and to an extent, it's normal for teenagers - especially those abused and bullied like him - to feel left out of friend groups or out of place (as he felt when yeong joined the crew). he's a product of his upbringing and environment, but ultimately, his stubbornness, insecurities, and misplaced anger did him in
finished rewatching before s2 and changed my rating. i think i intially rated it low bc i got bored of the reptitive fighting (still true) but it got much more interesting when i focused on character motivations this time
Absolutely NOT ^^I'm glad I don't have any social network. The only place I interact a bit online is here so I…
wow, good for you! it'll be yeaaaaars before we get the next 2 parts of the drama so you'll definitely be fluent enough to read the books by then lol. i've been working my way through them in english and it gets better and better
anyway thanks for letting me pick your brain and the lovely convo! see you around :)
hello again! thanks for your review, i thoroughly enjoyed reading it :)
couldn't agree more with what you wrote. the biggest downfall of this was the censorship and pacing, and as a non-chinese viewer, i found it lacking a lot of context that made watching awkward and clumsy.
nonetheless, an incredible scifi! did you imagine there would turn out to be aliens in this when you watched?!
he wasn't focused on revenge. he wanted justice for himself and the 2 victims
i get where you're coming from and i agree. but i think justice for him was finally revealing the truth so the 2 girls' families could get some closure and he could get his conviction overturned. it seemed like his character wanted nothing more than that, as frustrating as that is from a viewer's perspective
a hauntingly tragic yet beautiful drama. glad i continued watching
not sure this is really a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway
out of all the storylines, the morgue scenes were probably my favorite. such an amazing amount of empathy and respect was shown, makes me wanna cry just thinking about it
i'm curious about what you wrote here though: "He should be looked upon as the consequences or product of his environment"
how much agency (if any) do you think he had in contributing to what happened in the end?
anyway thanks for letting me pick your brain and the lovely convo! see you around :)
