Also it's a shame that Rina's arc with the Yakuza just ended like that, Kotetsu being the mole and just killed…
Yeah this was bothering a bit too. It kinda gets glazed over by the ending being so powerful, but Rina's story was tragic and kinda unfinished? But regardless, I think this show was my fav this season.
I waited all day and watched the last episode first thing when I came home from work. And Sawada=Makoto? LOL! It's weird we didn't see the "end" to Rina's story. She just ended a bad jinx after all? Sad to hear that Yuriko passed from what we can only assume was caused by radiation. Tora-san was just a great guy so that's great to know. Asako finally gets her closure and seems like her family as well as Leo can move forward. This boy loves Teppei more than Asako.
But all in all, powerful drama. Especially strong in the last half. So cruel, so uplifting, and so human. So many emotions. Tsukahara+Nogi duo does it again. Cannot praise it enough. This show itself is a diamond.
I cried. Heartwarming series. I'm still so amazed how great all the kids were at acting. Be nice everyone and have compassion. T_T Would have been cool to get a more extensive backstory for Makima-sensei like maybe from his childhood or something. Not complaining though! Just thought it would be a bonus. :) I wonder if the poster that Shinoya-sensei made at the end was drawn by the original mangaka? ^^
Y'know I feel like we're lucky to get 5 min of closure sometimes at the end of a drama. But this show had a whole episode 11 to let the dust settle. What a satisfying watch. The symbolism with the seagulls and everyone going on their own mission. Everything came full circle. The "ja ato yoroshiku" and the last high five with Vaundy's song in the bg. I'm so happy rn.
Honestly the whole gods and investigator thing is right up my alley. But there were too many off plot conveniences and "twists" that they kept chucking into the story. I mean maybe the story was too convoluted to be shoved into 10 episodes. The show didn't make me care about any of these characters and Amano basically did nothing.
Chaotic and messy, but still entertaining though. What kept me watching was the music, fight scenes and the golden cast (that they wasted.) And is that a set up for a second season? If probably watch it if that were to come out
But I am glad they finally showed Kazehaya's feelings for Shinno in that interrogation scene. They didn't do that…
I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with everything you said. The little girl's eyes gives me hope for a season 3. Tbh I'm surprised this series got a season 2 in the first place haha.
The music is SO GOOD. The soundtrack and the ending song really really enhance the show. I cannot praise Izumi's actress enough. "Nekko" is in my top played rn lol The only person that is a bigger fan of this Hashima story is Leo. LOL
WAIT. Was that a set up for a season 3? The little girl's eyes. And wasn't too much of a fan of the ending. Like I feel like after having watched season 1, they did a 180 and redid all the good that they built up
Damn it I knew I wasn't ready for this episode. Was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The siren sounds are from sounds from a nightmare. Like just the acting and suspense. Masterful. Probably my favorite episode so far. The inevitable has happened and the mine has to be shut down. Nogi-san plz my heart can't take it.
