Omg I forgot that we're only on episode 3. I recognized Teppei's kid actor right away from his voice! What a star! And Asako's little bro's kid actor is also a rising star!
It's nice to see the development of the island, but mining towns are solely dependent on their resources. We all know the inevitable fate. Idk how this stuff works but is this something that's in the back of the people's minds at all times?
Also I was gonna say that Kurama Tengu might not be Teppei, but looks like he remembered at the end. I can't do love polygons. I want them to be happy :')
Okay episode 4 and 5 really changed the dynamic for me here. The whole yaoyorozu thing adds so much more to the story. Looking forward to Wednesdays now. I think Hirose Alice needs a LITTLE more umph to her character, but I'm starting to see the bigger picture.I wonder what Okitama meant a few episodes back when he said, "She (Amano) doesn't change." And why did they bring her into the team of gods?
Heartfelt and eye-opening. How can all people be kids at one point yet not be able to understand their kid's feelings? This show really does a good job with this theme. Instead of assigning random illnesses to every kid each week, every single episode has an elaborate story and every kid is treated like their own character. Episode 4 was really heavy but well done. And okay how did they manage to round up a classroom size of good kid actors lol
So Izumi is one of the woman from the main 6. My early guess is Yuriko, because she is quiet knowledgeable about…
Yeah there's a brief moment where it shows both of them holding their necklace. But who knows maybe we are being fooled. Hopefully the story is really strong. Episode 1 was quite uplifting but I'm wondering where it would go from here. Preview suggests there is a love polygon which I'm not too much a fan of. Got me to research a bunch about the island though!
Sad Hirose Alice doesn't have a huge impact on the story itself. I'm hoping it's just a slow start and that she will come around later. Just Ms. Exposition at the moment. Waste of a GREAT actress. To be honest after the first couple episodes I wasn't impressed by how the mysteries were "solved." Idk kinda sloppy in my opinion.
But after episode 3, I decided to stick around. Weird episode and unconventional story. And the supernatural elements are ACTUALLY happening.
But Nomura Manzai's performance in this drama did set a new benchmark for "Over The Top" cartoonish villain. Kagawa…
I enjoyed it! I can't get off the Hanzawa Naoki high still yet I guess. Always looking for this type of Nichiyou Gekijou or honestly just anything Fukuzawa Katsuo. LOL
The exaggerated acting reminded me of Hanzawa Naoki. I'm a sucker for over the top acting. I initially thought it was lacking in the beginning. Glad I decided to finish this after putting it on hold for months. Predicable formula and ending, but really entertaining. Plus good music and ending song.
This drama bothered me a lot.At the beginning we already see the girl being humiliated in the ring, but this happens…
I think you're doing yourself a favor as I just forced myself to watch episode (while skipping a bunch.) Obviously, the characters are made to be insufferable, but no backstory will be redeeming enough to make me feel bad for any of them.
