The mother in this one don't care even after the son called her out for her ignorance and lack of love and attention for him. In swdbs the mother opened up and started treating dbs right when she called her out for her partiality and the mother also gave the reason why she cared for the brother more. Also she was rude and ott with everyone. It wasn't just to dbs or the father. Her characterisation was constant.

Even though swdbs was also female oriented the male characters weren't useless or flowerpots. Ahn min Hyun and gook du were well written characters and neither of them were negative or a**holes. But still majority rooted for min min. Even the father and brother weren't pathetic characters. The villain looked like a villain and nobody was rooting for him. The drama had its flaws but every single scenes of the leads have great re-watch value and the chemistry is one of the most iconic in kdrama land.
I have noticed that except swdbs none of the other works of this writer is worth talking about. I guess swdbs was a fluke. Park Bo young and park hyung sik literally made that a success with their acting, screen presence and chemistry.

I am almost sure the bf of grandma is either the head of shi oh or is working for him. He gets super excited when the grandma tells stories of from where all the mother gets money and loves to dig more into it. The grandma being blinded by love and being slow just tells him literally everything.

The mother's characterisation as well as her acting and makeup and too much of a plastic face are unbearable. Only her wardrobe is worth mentioning. The father came to her with the concern of her son and she brushed it off as nothing. She can care about an international drug cartel and the damages it will cause to all the people but don't give two hoots for her only son? 🙄. Can she get any more unlikeable? At this point I want the son to die like the rest who took the drugs so that she can repent all her life thinking how much of a shitty mother she has been to that poor kid.
