Most probably image. Shin yu comes from a reputed family with generational wealth and he himself is well educated and good looking. Going by how he and his family are shown they are very well reputed with no shaddy side business unlike the guy she sleeps around with. So to be the perfect daughter to her mayor father she might want her name to be attached to a family like shinyu's.

I don't know if it's because of the totnt S1 I suspect the friend as well. The scene were shinyu dismisses him wasn't shot in a funny manner and his expressions at the end was quite serious as if he didn't like being ignored like that.
