If do bong soon and Kang nam soo are cousins shouldnt they have the same grandmother? The actress playing the grandmother here was not the one from S1. Or are they gonna show this grandmother is the sister of the grandmother from S1? But if i am not wrong it's said that the leads from S1 are the first ones to have two daughters. Else it's always a boy and a girl in the do bong soo's family.

I watched S1 when it was on air so i am not sure if i am completely right, but Lee Yeon left his mountain God position after aireum died resulting in destruction in that area and angry humans destroyed the mountain. Lee rang lost his puppy and started hating Lee Yeon for abandoning him and humans for destroying his perfect home. In S1 starting he used to kill humans for fun and didn't care how many died. His hatred for humans was an important aspect in S1 and him not having a happy ending in S1 looked like his karma for taking away loved ones from other people. In S2 he leads a bandit wolf gang and they are never shown to be killing humans while looting them. They are more of a funny gang than ruthless. Lee rang is loving towards his gang like he was towards Yuri in S1. So that aspect of him is still there.
I understand the tonning down of his negative aspect in S2 as he is one of the leads. They have also made Lee Yeon more edgy. In first episode itself he killed a bunch of Japanese soldiers who were humans. S1 Lee Yeon won't kill humans even though he didn't care much about them. He minded his own business and never interfered in the human world. It was not that hard for Lee Yeon to save himself without killing those soldiers.

I love the dialogue of Lee yeon when he said without a love to protect the gumiho is much more ruthless. Even with jiah as his vulnerability Lee yeon was a very smart and cool gumiho.

The last scene in S1 happens after the sign of contract. He has his powers back and he was back at the job.

Seems like they tonned down Lee rang's character in S2. Going by the initial episodes of S1 he is supposed to be way more ruthless and he had a hatred for humans and have killed multiple humans throughout S1. In S2 they are only showing his abandonment issues and love-hate feelings for Lee yeon. His bandit gang also don't kill anyone. They only loot.
Also wasn't Lee yeon from 1938 also working for the old lady and trackdown supernatural creatures that act out? Why is he high on opium and living in a shady place? If i remember correctly Lee yeon started working for the old lady after aireum died.
Apart from these two points, i really loved the first 2 episodes. S1 had more dark creepy vibe to it but this one seems to be more action and thriller oriented.
I remember watching S1 and having discussion here regarding the Korean folklores tales and understanding the drama better since in S1 they didn't explain much about those mythological creatures. As international viewers its hard to understand those reference and the creatures they show.

I cried while watching the video message rang send for Yeon but i was fine with his death. He used to kill innocent people because of his boredom. No amount of abandonment issues with his brother can justify that.

The primetime in sk is 9pm and not 10. Hometown cha cha cha, crash landing and all were 9pm shows. This one aired a little late maybe due to its creepy factor.

Yes. When the trailers were shown i thought it will cute and fluffy with a serious backstory like goblin but wasn't expecting the creepy vibe at all. Also the suspense of the imoogi being inside the FL was also good. Jo boa was really good when she had to show the negative side. Don't know why people were hating on her. She

Edited: it's there. i first searched tale of the nine tailed and they only showed S1. Then now I searched 1938 and it showed S2 😁

Also S1 used to air around 10pm and not the prime slot of 8pm. So it's rating was quite high that time. The drama.made quite some buzz and was liked in Korea. If it wasn't commerically successful why would the makers spend so much money and come up with S2 and S3.

I also liked S1. The drama had a haunting creepy factor to it which we don't get from usual kdrama supernatural dramas. I remeber how creepy the entire village track was and also how badass Lee yeon was. I loved how he killed that nightmare woman.

Ldw most probably won't have a love line in this season. In S1 it's said that gumihos only have one partner throughout their lives and the fl from S1 is his only love.

It's high time south Korean and kpop industry take strick measures to tackle the toxic fan culture and the obsession of showcasing idols as some perfect angels and let them live as humans that could talk their heart out and be themselves instead of imposing a particular image on these young people and forcing them to behave as adult children.

I was asking about the official streaming site for this drama. I guess it will be Viki and not any other platform 🙁. Viki takes a lot of time to sub an episode and I don't have subscription to it
