So obviously we won't have a clear picture of how the spells in the book actually work and how much of the ML's feelings are real. The leads also don't know anything regarding the spell book. They both are more like the typical government employees that like to slack off at work or give it to their juniors. They mean no harm to anyone. Just typical gossip moguels.
She keeps things to herself and avoid getting in trouble. So she don't talk back to people and just does her own thing and mind her own business.

I think it's the gardener guy after watching the latest episode. He seems to be the one that did chicken blood thing and him saying some crazy people look normal made me doubt him. It's overused but then we should also look into the circumstances she grew up in and the cultural aspect. Being nice to people is a cultural thing and she is a civil servant who is very sincere to her job. She gets attached to anyone that shows any sort of sympathy towards her like the SML. He was nice to her she fell for him immediately simply because not much people have been kind to her and she craves for companionship.
She most of the times stay happy on her own and don't go after people that don't want her with them. She feels sad for being an outcast but she stays happy on her own as well.

She is good hearted and happy on her own. Her coworkers are also slowly warming up to her. She isn't getting flattered by all the attention the ML is showering on her and she is very sincere towards her job.
