True. I don't get the hate both the leads are getting here. They both are in a situation they have never even thought of and both dont know how to get out of it or how to deal with it. It's not like they were familiar with magical and supernatural power and they have people around them to tell what to do with all this or how to handle all this. The only one that has the slightest idea of what's going on is the old shaman and she talks in puzzles and wants the leads to figure it out themselves.
What do people want these two to do? Both ML and FL clearly never have been in love before. ML was preoccupied with the curse his whole life and was only concentrating on how to stay alive as long as he can. The FL was bullied in highschool and lost her father right after that living her an orphan. She has been surviving on her own in a harsh and judgmental society on her own and is still kind and empathetic towards other.
They both want to be with different people but they are connected by some invisible thread. So no matter how much they try to run away they end up being together and they know they are each other's destiny. So both are fighting against it.
People expect these two to be all sorted and perfect. Human beings in general are not sorted and perfect.

He clearly don't love her and wants a future with her. He cares for her but there is clearly no love. Even after being cured he is hesitating to get married to her and is back to dating her only because he wants to fight the destiny.
Both the leads say they are not each other's type and a few episodes ago the fl said she will choose a pork belly over him anyday. That's harsher than saying his gf is prettier than Hong Jo. The only difference is the fl saying that was more of a comic scene.
He is way too messed up as he don't know how to differentiate his real feelings. He is fully confused and even doubts if his feelings are because of the spell or it has gone deeper. Anyone who don't have any control over what they feel will be frustrated and acts out.
There is clearly attraction between the leads. He keeps admiring her and says she makes his heart beat faster and she admits he is good looking.

It's disaster nullification spell. So won't it only nullify something negative or bad to someone? The lifting of the curse was a positive thing.

Is that the text book version of all arrogant rich kdrama leads esp from pre-2016? All of the guys think they are way out of the league of the middle class FL and acts like she should be thankful that he is showing interest in her.

Hong Jo definitely is prettier than his gf. It's so clear when they showed the flashback with hong Jo with long black hair. She looked way prettier than the gf in high school and that might be the main reason for her jealousy towards hong Jo.

It's definitely cheating but then he has no control over his emotions and feelings.

Apart from swdbs the writer do t have any other notable work under her belt. One of the main seeling factor of swdbs is Bo young and hyung sik and their chemistry. Both had good comic timing as well. I don't have much hope from the spin off as the casting don't look that impressive.

It's only been 5 episodes and the curse or the spell or the past haven't been revealed yet. So obviously we won't have a clear picture of how the spells in the book actually work and how much of the ML's feelings are real. The leads also don't know anything regarding the spell book. They simply tried their luck with a spell book hoping for it to work as both were desperate.

I can already feel Na yeon is gonna be a pain in the ass soon. She cannot take no for an answer and seems to be obsessed with the ml. Not completely her fault but she surely has been a b*tch since highschool.

I am feeling bad for the SML. He tried to stay away from the fl but she is going after him and he will eventually fall in love with her only to get his heart broken as we all know she is gonna fall for shin yu. The guy basically was forced into this triangle. Poor guy was simply minding his business and living his full life.

She will be labelled as a trouble maker inside the office and her superior would have never melted. The other two colleagues are also not evil. They both are more like the typical government employees that like to slack off at work or give it to their juniors. They mean no harm to anyone. Just typical gossip moguels.
She keeps things to herself and avoid getting in trouble. So she don't talk back to people and just does her own thing and mind her own business.
