Not available on Netflix is a main reason... Our beloved summer is not as popular as red sleeve but it has more…
the drama seems to be doing well among all age groups in korea though... in most of the junho or junho-seyoung videos i see majority korean comments... i doubt older viewers will be making comments on youtube... junho definitely seems to have gained a lot of female fans... i also see a lot of korean videos based on red sleeve without any engsub... i guess one other reason is the lack of explanation about a lot of things in the drama... one needs to know korean history to know some of the stuff... we in mdl did research while it was ongoing but there is a vast majority who just simply watch it without even knowing that its based on a novel or true story... for them a lot of things wont make sense or they will get confused... even in mdl we see a lot of people getting frustrated over deokim's continues rejection...
As much as the drama is popular in South Korea and still a darling to most of us who watched it, the drama audience…
Not available on Netflix is a main reason... Our beloved summer is not as popular as red sleeve but it has more views on mdl simply because it's on Netflix Then junho is a 2nd gen idea, so he don't have the kind of international fame like 3rd gen popular idols... Se young also is not much of a crowd puller... Some started watching this drama thinking it's like the usual rom-com fusion sageuk and didn't like the change in tone in the second half... It don't have much that attracts younger kdrama international fans who mostly makes noise on social media...
The 2nd female lead looks way too matured than kim soo Hyun... Going by the comments i expected the worst from the FL, may be that's why I didn't find her as annoying as everyone else... Low expectations work sometimes... Like everyone i also miss the child actors... Almost all of the actors who played the younger version are so famous now...
I know but seeing actors in their 20s being romantic to 13-14yr old actresses is weird to watch... It was also weird when the princess who looked 10-11 screaming to get married to siwan's character...
Can you tell mr story of youngest as i see the comment she is being pared with male lead??? I dont mind age gap…
If they go by the original story she will end up with the ML only when in her early 20s and that happens only towards the very end... So I don't think there will be any shipping... This drama is mainly based on the 3 FLs... The guy will be in love with the 2nd sister for most of the parts...
I suggest you lower your expectations on this one, the director is not very good to say the least
Can't really expect the drama to be good or bad simply based on the pd... BR and lovestruck had famous pds but it didn't attract majority of the audience but both might have looked good on papers... I personally liked BR but not lovestruck...
its based on a real story of a king and his concubine who rejected him for 15 long years... so it was supposed to have a sad ending and due to the power imbalance, some scenes were supposed to be disturbing...
i guess one other reason is the lack of explanation about a lot of things in the drama... one needs to know korean history to know some of the stuff... we in mdl did research while it was ongoing but there is a vast majority who just simply watch it without even knowing that its based on a novel or true story... for them a lot of things wont make sense or they will get confused... even in mdl we see a lot of people getting frustrated over deokim's continues rejection...
