The thing is deokim never wanted to climb to the top. Also how can a court lady become a princess in joseon era? The maximum she can become is a high rank concubine to the king and bare his children. She cannot even become the queen. Also she didn't wanted to be part of palace polities and gain any sort of power... This drama is a love story and not about a woman wanting to climb the ladder and become powerful... Korean kingdoms were different from Chinese empires...

First the main villain was the Congressman and as soon as he died the chief was revealed to be the next main villain and by the time he got arrested this therapist appeared... The main big baddy might be the Russian drug dealers but the writers are keeping them for the last...
HJ obviously brought all the love for ksh but people went completely crazy for dushik... everyone loved him... he was like a breath of fresh air... totally different from all the MLs of kdrama...
