Forget the time she straight up says that he is always calculating and she can't trust him. He always ran to her…
in her defence, when she got close to him she didnt knew he was the crown prince... she was extremely disappointed when she found out he was the CP... then she did kept her distance and only behaved as a loyal court maid... how can she just mind her own business when san's life was at stake? he would have lost his CP status and his life if deokim didnt help him both the times... why should she sacrifice her life in the city where she can make money by selling books just because the palace is right there? the chances of the king roaming around the city is so less... she got to be a maid at a decent household... its not safe for a woman to live her own life in that era... also as a court maid she is supposed to keep up a certain living standard even outside the palace... she was forced to be back in the palace. san also decided to forget about her and start anew until the dumb concubine played her cards... she gave in only when san kept aside his status and arrogance and whole heartedly respected her decision...
Forget the time she straight up says that he is always calculating and she can't trust him. He always ran to her…
we cannot expect deokim to give a blind eye and keep her distance when san's life is at stake... when she begged to queen dwager to be on san's side, she wasnt fully aware of her feelings for him... she thought of it as loyalty... she cannot give a blind eye when san is surrounded by traitors and think her duty ends with just flying the kite. she cannot just sit aside and watch when san's grandfather was about to execute him even when she knows that she is the clue to save him. when he finally became the king she did keep her distance and refused to be his concubine and even said harsh words so that he himself would keep distance... she was fine living away from san until she was forced back to the palace... so saying that she never tried to keep her distance is wrong... it was only until san said thank you to her and stopped forcing his feelings on her, she finally decided to give in...
i dropped it at ep 28... this one should have been just 30 episodes... the acting is quite average... the guy playing LX is handsome but barely has any expressions... i liked the FL in her teen years and she suited that part of the story but didnt like her acting when she played mid 20s grown-up woman... she still dressed and looked like a child... i guess i would still give a blind eye if LQ and JJ had chemistry but they had better chemistry as siblings than lovers... i liked ZQ the most out of the 3... he suited both the teen role and adult role... this drama also had the same problem i have with most chinese dramas... the dubbing... this one does have way better dubbing than most Chinese dramas i have seen but there is no voice modulation... its like most of the time the characters are speaking in the same tone... there is barely any variation in their voices... it kind of takes away the emotions... the good parts of the drama were without a doubt the first 10-15 episodes... they were well made... i liked the bong b/w li dad and the kids... he is my fav character... when he was drunk and cried on ZQ's birthday i cried with him... i wished the drama just focused on the 3 and their siblings like bond rather than the love story... 9 rating for this drama is way too high in my opinion... it had way too many flaws... 8.5 is like the max best for this drama...
From my point of view this drama clearly shows us that ZQ does not have romantic feelings for her. Over the years…
There were scenes were zq started being bothered about their physical intimacy and it is really uncomfortable to watch... If he only saw her as a sister then he wouldn't have been affected by their intimacy but it's true that if JJ reciprocated then they would have had a relationship which is totally gross... It stopped there simply because JJ didn't wanted it .. With LQ i understand that he never saw her as a sister as it was made somewhat clear but it's not that way with JJ... JJ was shown to be completely clueless and she was never shown longing for LQ in those 9 yrs... She just missed both the guys and the bond they shared... She also used to brag about having 2 brothers who will take care of her... The execution is what is wrong here... The makers put too much importance to the siblings bond they shared that it makes it uncomfortable to see them as a couple... unconsciously JJ might have always had something more for LQ but they never really showed it... She was just way too immature and child like in the teen years to think that way and when she grew up also she never really thought about just lq in romantic way...
king jeongjo did not force deokim to be his concubine, but that doesn't mean his love wasn't dangerous. there…
in the 21st century yisan's authoritative behavior and their power imbalance is a total red flag and a girl should run but that wasnt the case 300-400 yrs ago... the mere fact that even after being a king and having the power to have any woman he wants, he stayed in love with just one woman that too after multiple rejections... remember it was a time when men( not just the king) could marry multiple times and it was a totally patriarchal society... his toxic and obsessive behaviour is the only thing that makes him look real... one cannot expect a person who grew up as a crown prince with a superiority complex to be thoroughly gentleman to his court maid who he is love with... at one point or another he will use the power he has over her... he grew up hearing that he owns everything in the palace and he automatically thinks he owns deokim as well...
my fav character without a doubt is Li Hai Chao... he is such a pure-hearted human being... i cry at every emotional scene he shared with both the boys...
i am on ep 22 and i feel the romance is totally unnecessary... till now it was all about having a family without any blood relation... but both the guys having romantic feelings for JJ kind of makes the entire theme null and void... why cannot atleast one of them purely have just siblings love for JJ? they should have atleast left out ZQ thinking of JJ like more than a sister...
Well the romance part of the story is very natural , it doesn't seem forced.. If you look closely you will observe…
i am on the episode where LX kissed her while she was sleeping and it made me really uncomfortable... i would have been fine if they showed she also kind of had a crush on him while they were growing up but she didnt show that kind of feelings for him till now... i get that ZQ wanted to have a real family but how can someone imagine of getting romantically involved with someone who has always been like a proper sister to him... more than LX, ZQ and JJ gave off siblings vibe and why was it necessary to show both of them liking her? i can still be fine with LX having feelings for her but not ZQ... they both lived under the same roof and her father is like his own father... i also dont see much chemistry b/w JJ and LX esp because the makers went too deep with the siblings bond b/w all 3 of them in highschool...
I dropped this drama. intial episodes were very good but when two brothers decided to court sister it was big…
I am ob ep 9 and loving their siblings bond but then I saw 2 of them kissing in a yt clip and it's grossing me out... Why cannot the 3 have siblings relationship and the story be about non-blood related family...
I watched the first 9 episodes and I really liked it... I love the bond b/w the 3... But then I saw clips from the coming episodes and saw both of them proposing her which grossed me out... I kind of see them as siblings and they even grew up like one so how is the romance gonna develop? Werent they like brothers and sister? I don't mind spoilers
Frankly, I think Deok Im is more strongly than most warrior female characters.
I have watched plenty of Chinese dramas and stopped watching them simply because they were too long... The last one i watched was untamed which I found it to be decent story wise... also i have a problem with them dubbing their dramas... I tried watching love yourself by it was way too boring...

Did you read the comments above? She/he is the one that started by saying kdramas have bad acting and stories... Someone else simply said they prefer kdramas and jdramas... that person is doing the same thing in another kdrama page saying that drama is a copy of other Chinese dramas... I am simply pulling her legs to pass my time...
why should she sacrifice her life in the city where she can make money by selling books just because the palace is right there? the chances of the king roaming around the city is so less... she got to be a maid at a decent household... its not safe for a woman to live her own life in that era... also as a court maid she is supposed to keep up a certain living standard even outside the palace...
