You just described all of the three main relationships in this show. Conditional love indeed.
The power imbalance in all the 3 relationships were pretty unhealthy... I guess KG was the only one who atleast didn't let SY walk all over him and just let her be even though he liked her... he kept his distance and went on with his life even though he couldn't get into another relationhsip or move on completely...He didn't take too much crap from SY and still hung in there... It was SY herself that willingly came to KG and cleared everything... GJ suppressed himself as much as he can and let RY have her way for almost a decade but for the first time he expressed his view the guy got dumped then and there... He didn't even get to explain himself... With EO and JW the less said the better... For a so called realistic show JW was unrealistically nice and forgiving...
If he didn't die then he would have ended up getting the punishment others were getting because his name was in the treason list... Also he tried to kill the king himself...
the FLs mother needs help asap... she is more like a daughter to the FL than a mother... but the actor playing the mother has such a helpless face that i feel pity for her...
i think the queen did take some of the character traits like swearing, lifting her skirt up and running, being…
it worked for so bong because she had a soul of both the man and a woman... BH also dont have any feminine features of SY after returning even though he lived inside a woman likewise SY dont have the masculine features BH had... they both just took the character trades that they both were lacking... BH learned to be compassionate and considerate and not so self centered and selfish from SY and SY learned to state her opinion and be strong like BH and not suppress herself...
Anytime I see a movie/series with this similar plot i.e Male soul entering a female body or vice versa, all I…
the aim of the makers were to create a drama thats purely fun to watch without taking itself seriously... we dont take joey's level of dumbness or pheobes's level of weirdness seriously because if we do then more than half of the characters in comedy shows will end up coming off as abnormal... we just watch it to relax and have fun and dont dwell too much on the emotional or logical part of these characters... mr.queen is exactly like that and thats exactly how the drama was promoted by the makers and the cast...
i think this was a closed script because the scenes in the city seems to be shot at the start as the people on…
the drama clearly had a road map on where they were going... if i am not wrong they ended the shooting for the original pretty early, like around the first half of the drama airing and then shot the spinoff... i also think its better to have a clear script or atleast have 2 or 3 possible ways the story could turn before they start the shooting... a lot of dramas end up being a disappointment when the makers wait for the audience's reaction and try to satisfy everyone... at least with mr.queen most of the viewers are happy with the ending or satisfied with the entire drama enough to not hate on the entire drama just based on the last 20-30mins of the drama...
i watched both the episodes of the spinoff and it don't contribute much into the original storyline except 1. the king and queen had a love at first sight moment (more like got attracted towards each other) 2. BH wanted to go back to his original form and he misses his original body... i guess even though he grew attached to some people in the palace he always wanted to go back because he knows thats where he belongs... BH is a practical person and he started making emotional decisions only after his soul and SY's soul got merged... so it was expected... that scene gives the idea of the fact that BH after returning to the present, will move on and live his life but as a more considerate and compassionate human being...
i think ep 2 takes place during the timeline after the queen slept with the king and before she became pregnant.. they show a 20days time skip in the main story( the time for the pear wine to be made)...
except for these two points, the spinoff is like a skit with the characters of the original story... i don't think Kim hwan ever saw the face of the king but in ep 2 he not just has 1-2 encounters he talks to the king in the 1st scene as if he knows the king... going by the original story BI will never be playing with the rest of the gang in ep 2... i think kim jae gwen was already kicked out as a minister during that time but he was shown in the minister's robe...
even though the spinoff was funny and i loved seeing all the characters in a much more fun way, i think they could have utilized those episodes on SY and the king... they could have shows everything that happened b/w the king and SY in those 2 yrs through ep 1 and how SY and the king were doing after BH left along with BH's life in the present...

i've been thinking about the ending for quite some time and decided that it really wasn't that bad. i didn't expect…
i think the queen did take some of the character traits like swearing, lifting her skirt up and running, being bolder and stronger etc... she is much more liberal and free spirited... but then at the end SY is a girl from joseon era and BH is a guy from 2021... so her completely adapting a guy's traits and that too a guy from the present will also be an over exaggeration... after all she is the queen of a country...
i dont think there is a drama where everyone is satisfied... if the king dies then a lot of people will hate it,…
this drama is only loosely based on the novel and not entirely... they only took the concept andcreated an entirely different setting with real king and queen...
GJ suppressed himself as much as he can and let RY have her way for almost a decade but for the first time he expressed his view the guy got dumped then and there... He didn't even get to explain himself...

The mother is way too oblivious to her daughter's feelings and only care about her own...
