i havent seen sound of your heart and its reboot... even though a character is written by a writer, its the actor that gives color to it and along with the director the actor can make a character irritating or likable by putting their own perspective into it... this is the reason why i always prefer dramas with good actors... if someone else other than park bo young played bong soon in swdbs, then there are high chances that the character might have come off as irritating... park bo young's natural adorableness along with her acting skills is one of the reasons why bong soon remained as a cute badass character rather than annoying... also some roles that went to idols or actors solely because of their physical appearance and popularity could have been done in a better way by actors who are known for their acting skills... ( i dont want to name anyone because it might not go well)
can anyone who read the webtoon give me a clear picture of the webtoon... i just hope there is no romance b/w jcw and the FL as she is said to be a highschooler... dont want another backlash like BR...

i guess no matter who played the FL in catch the ghost they would have came off as irritating because the badassness of the character was overdone... MGY did a good job as the 2nd character but as the FL she was too irritating... i agree that someone who looked more matured should have played the role with ofcourse some change to the characterization as well...

i decided to watch this one because of my new found love for kim seon ho and i dont regret watching it... the drama is set in the subway station and showed the kind of cases the subway police has to deal with... their job was pretty much calm and quiet with some petty cases here and there until the FL joins them... she is extremely reckless and will do the exact opposite of the rules and regulations a police officer must follow...
i liked the overall story and the villian and the mystery... there are only two things i dont like... the way the FL's character was written and the length... the drama could have been tightly packed without any romance and focusing mainly only on the cases... by the end, it felt like the police was unnecessarily playing cat and mouse with the villain just to reach ep 16... the FL and her reckless behaviour came out as irritating rather than badass... dont know whether its the writer's fault or the director's, i just couldn't connect with her or sympathize with her... its not like moon geun young is a bad actress who cannot portray her role properly as she was amazing as the 2nd character... the fault lies with the makers... there is a fine line b/w being badass and annoying... the FL crossed that line when she put the ML in difficult positions repeatedly and unapologetically for her own personal reasons... also they made the entire police department dumb and ignorant just so she can shine... thats quite unreal... it would have been fine if she was shown as this super-smart go-getter kind of character before she joined the police force but they show her to be just a very ordinary girl who was leading an average life... suddenly after just 2 years she is smart enough to put an entire group of experienced police officers behind... its not even like she was in the force for 2 years... the FL remembering the entire subway blueprint is the only thing that seemed real as she was overly obsessed over it for 2 yrs... the makers overdid her character to the level i didn't sympathize with her when she was desperately looking for her mentally challenged sister... on the other hand i actually felt bad for the SFL even though she was rude and arrogant because what the ML did to her was unfair... he broke up with her for his own good and then moved on to another girl right in front of her without giving her a proper closure... her rudeness, jelousy and lack of empathy wasnt overdone to the level i felt irritated with her...
i liked how they showed what people who look after mentally challenged people go through... the way the ML looked after his mother is heartwarming... also they shed light on how women are violated in the metro stations and how men get away with it by hiding behind the crowd...

i watched school 2015 after the lockdown and i already knew who she ends up with... so i didnt invest much time in it... i just watched it and at times fast forwarded a lot... the problem with that drama was that NJH's character was in love with the FL's twin sister for a long time and he was nice to her coz he thought she is his childhood sweetheart... after he found out the truth they didnt have much deep moments and by then the FL and SL had bonded over so much... SL liked her for who she is... then suddenly the ML is in love with the FL forgetting about his childhood sweetheart... i didnt even get the last scene b/w the twin and the ML... did she also liked him and backed off because she was going abroad and her sister liked him too or she never liked him in a romantic way?
i get why the FL fell for him but i never got when he fell for her and forgot about his childhood bestie...
also like startup, the backstory and acting of the SL was better...

kim go eun is a good actress but not made for larger than life kind of kdramas like goblin or tkem... she is better in movies and dramas like cheese in the trap where the story is more down to earth and complex... i think she will be good in suspense thriller or dark mystery dramas instead of dramas like tkem and goblin... goblin has the best bromance in kdrama and the best 2nd lead couple... lee dong wook and gong yoo have more chemistry than a lot of kdrama leads including gong yoo's chemistry with kim go eun...

From what I know he is the most popular hallyu star and not that big in Korea... Most of the hallyu popularity comes from China and as far as I have noticed Chinese fans don't care about acting skills... even most of the international fans also don't care about acting skills... Also he is good-looking for most people... Since I am very particular about the guys i choose to drool over I don't really find him good-looking but I understand that other people find him good-looking and hot... Alot of international fans(esp outside South east Asian) started watching kdramas with boys over flowers or my love from the stars which made LMH and KSH the most known korean actors...
