I think they cannot find imoogi because he is in a room surrounded by talismans... Those talismans might be to hide imoogi from other being found.. If you have seen goblin then in it also the female lead didn't die when she should be but eventually it happened... I guess It's like they can delay what's gonna happen but it will eventually happen in the future... The shaman woman was a human and the spiritual realm don't interfere when humans kill another human... Those humans get punished when they eventually die and goes to the underworld... I guess they are not going after Lee rang because he is now connected with a human... They haven't made it clear till now.. LY never had a conversation about LR with the lady...
I guess even if they resign their posts they still are considered as gods... The villiage magistrate also is still known as a diety

the mysterious villains dont come to the forefront till the end of first half of the drama... his motives will be revealed only by ep 8 or 9... we already know he is an imoogi(snake), he has some kind of connection to the FL, the male lead killed( or stopped) him 600 yrs ago, imoogi sucks the life out of living things, lee rang is aware of imoogi and the fox beard was the reason why imoogi stayed away from the FL.. now that its gone it will start to haunt the FL...

when the male lead is not cool/tough/mysterious then people get way more disappointed in his character.. perfect example will be jcw's character in backstreet rookie.. people didnt care the character was high on morals and very realistic , the character didnt had the usual cool quotient all other jcw character had, so he is not worthy to be a male lead... the foremost attraction of kdrama is their cool tough mysterious male lead...

lee yeon's powers are of a gumiho and he only resigned as a diety.. his powers wont go away.. as you can see lee rang wasnt even a god but he has the same kind of powers like lee yeon.. since lee yeon is like the alpha he might posses more powers but till now he didnt shape-shift like lee rang.. so dont know if the kind of powers vary from fox to fox... the village magistrate also used to be a mountain diety and he also still has his powers...

i watched the first 2-4 episodes of dolunay and the whole custody case is very similar to a famous hindi serial... does the leads get married just for the custody of the child? if so then its very similar to the hindi serial....

no its not bad.. just because he is very alluring as a character doesnt mean all the bad things he did will vanish.. even though he suffered doesnt give his a pass for all the wrong things he did... he willingly helped that guy to bring back imoogi and killed multiple people...
