korean actors dont tend to have the kind of obsessed saesangs like idols.. even if they do those saesangs are not powerful enough for brands and movie offers to take a hit... saesangs are totally irrelevant for actors...

blood related brother as well as older guys who you are close to are called oppa only.. it just dont have the brotherly feel when non-blood related guys are called oppa.. oppa becomes just a term to respectfully call an older guy in an informal way when used on non-relatives...

the text message at maximum will have charlie jung congratulating HJ for the win and apologizing for his behavior.. that wont tamper the image of charlie as its pretty clear everyone knew he was gay..

blackpink, exo are idol groups whether as HJ is an actor... actors dont even get half the backlash idols get and they dont have any problem dating as long as they are not dating any controversial figure... if female actresses like suzy(who was also an idol) and song hye kyo are still counted as top actresses after multiple dating news with fellow actors, an actor dating a non-celeb is a piece of cake.. also non-celeb partners and their information are never leaked by media houses and they dont release dating news without consulting the actors...
jenkai are one of the most appreciated idol couples.. they got way more support than hate and it was actually surprising... even chen getting married had lot more supporters than haters.. the so called hyped up protest by anti-fans/sasaeng only had 20 peoples... for every hate those obsessed fans threw at chen there were 100 supports to give it back... also exo members themselves showed the haters that they support chen and he is not going anywhere.. idols themselves taking dig at obsessed fans might be first in kpop.. exo made it pretty clear that they dont care about those obsessed fans... i guess OBSESSION was made with this keeping in mind... the song ends with saying 'get lost'.. lol
actors like lee byung hun had 3 times bigger scandal and controversies but he still one of the biggest korean actor..
park bo gum himself has some controversy but it did literally nothing to his popularity, endorsement deals or movie/drama offers...

the drama is over exaggerating the whole matter just for too much drama and it comes off as extremely unrealistic for a slice of life drama..

esp when only a single reporter is after this one celeb who literally is the nicest human being to exist... there were fans to defend the other guy who was rude openly to another fan but there is no one on HJ's side...
also actors dating non-celebs is not as big of a deal as its shown in this one.. infact media houses dont leak pics of non-celeb partners unlike shown in this one...

i didnt know park bo gum was this much loved in korea until i saw the ratings.. iotnbo didnt had this much ratings even though it was way more interesting than this one... but apart from the rating its not that hyped up.. i guess even though its name is record of youth, its liked more by the older generation which explains the rating but no buzz online...
i am not familiar with the rest of the cast except park so dam.. even though she is appreciated as a good actress i dont think she has big fan following to attract dramas solely based on her name...

its not an office based drama for the characters to act all professional.. you seem to completely ignorance the genre of this drama.. tell me a scene were do bong soo was rude or misbehaved with anyone other than her project head in this drama? even with him she kept her cool as much as possible.. she did everything he asked her to do and talked to him in formal manner till his bullying got out of hand... she under no circumstances have to bare all those bullying...
she tried to keep her relationship status with the male lead under wrap inside the office as much as possible but it is him that showed off their relationship... ahn min hyuk is the one who started being informal with her from the start and he is the one that gave her all the privileges and he is the one who asked her to be informal with him.. why is she being blamed for it? they made a deal that she will get a job if she helps him with the blackmailing... she helped him get the blackmailer and she got the job.. even then she didnt directly got appointed in some high level position.. she was first a trainee and then she got into the department.. the company didnt bare any kind of lose because of her.. infact the game she invented was a hit and then she quit her job to help people when she couldn't manage both...
even in search:www which revolves around working women and is based on a professional settings had some scenes which can be considered to be unprofessional.. whatever happened in swbds is not even a big deal...

everything that happens in a drama is to move the plot forward.. the blackmailing of the male lead was just a plot device for the leads to be together.. it just gave a reason for the male lead to keep her close to him.. he was fully capable of finding the blackmailer by himself and he is also good at fighting and is fearless.. he just acted he wants a bodyguard just to appoint do bong soon as his bodyguard..

Even hotel del luna and korean odessey have that thing common.. they all meet their human counterpart when they were kids...
The destiny thing is there in almost all kdramas if romance is involved..
Since the supernatural beings are immortal only the human counterpart will be shown as a kid but in normal rom-coms both the male lead and female lead meet as kids....
Kdramas have this weird obsession with the leads meeting as kids and then as adults..

i didnt watch ep 13 and when i watched ep 14 i didnt feel like i missed an entire episode... ep 14 had some good scenes but it ended with the leads breaking up and the reporter girl got even more on my nerves... if this show dont end with her atleast making a public apology i will cut 2 stars while giving the ratings..

the demon coworker was suspicious the moment he was shown and when the scene cut directly to them walking into the store room after LY asking JA she wants to see his world..
i guess to keep the show fast paced they just cut out unwanted scenes like them getting on a ferry and coming back to seoul or waiting at the island for the police to arrive... i thought LY would be getting punished for atleast 2-3 days but he came back within hours... as long as they dont drag the show by 2nd half i am fine with the fast phase...

i do feel the dialouges are fast and hard to keep up with the subs.. the to and fro conversations are fast and i have to pose at times to read the subs..

almost all supernatural shows with creatures decades old gives the same vibe.. goblin, hotel del luna, korean odyssey all kind of gave the same vibe at the start.. all the supernatural leads will have some kind of connection with the human leads... also afterlife, reincarnation, curse everything are according to the korean culture so there will be similarities no matter how different the entire story is...

i skipped episode 13 and only watched ep14 but i dont feel like i missed anything...

JH will come off as extremely dumb if she gets manipulated by a reporter who is hell-bent on defaming HJ... JH can literally sue that reported for stalking her and taking her pictures without her permission.. thats more than enough to scare her and make her apologize.. the reporter is already in hot water for writing charlie jung-HJ article... JH should have said what the reporter told her to HJ instead of breaking up with him... why did she even give time to that reporter? her noble idocy is only gonna give HJ more headaches...
this episode, HJ-JH was finally looking like a couple after ages and it ended up with their break-up... i seriously want to see the reporter getting sued and making a public apology..

also till now, i haven't heard any Korean actors losing endorsement deals due to their dating.. did lee min ho and suzy loose endorsement deals for dating each other? in fact suzy dated 2 actors publically and she still has no problem getting high budget dramas and movies... song Hye Kyo dated 3 of her costars and even married and divorced one of them.. she is still considered to be one of the top actresses... if actresses dont get impacted by dating in a patriarchal society like korea than actors are out of the question...
HJ is not an idol and even idols( esp male idols) don't lose much when they date.. exo kai dated publically twice and it did nothing to his popularity and brand value... they are over exaggerating Korean actors dating...

as always HJ's brother made me laugh.. some of the scenes from today's episode was heart touching like HH-HJ conversation, their childhood flashback..
HH's sister need to make a clear stand in front of her mother..

i watched it till ep 10 and then went and watched the last episode..
the drama had some hilarious scenes and cute and naive characters..
i have mixed feelings towards the male lead.. i get he is innocent and naive because of his upbringing but some of his mannerism makes it look like he has some metal disorder rather than someone who is naive and innocent... seo in guk was cute playing louie but i dont know how to interpret his character.. i am confused about it...
the female lead is also innocent and naive but i dont have any mixed feelings about her characterisation...
i liked the chemistry b/w the leads.. by now i know nam ji hyun can have chemistry with anyone and everyone... there is not even a single costar of hers that i didn't like her with...

i watched the first two episodes and i dont feel like watching the 3rd episode.. it dont make me excited and the first 2 episodes were very slow and uninteresting...
the female lead is very boring.. she makes the FL of goblin looks interesting to me... i didnt feel much chemistry b/w the leads as well and the hairstyle of the ML is not helping either... there was not much comedy either... i only liked Woo ma wang and his extra-ness...

does this get any better? i am not that impressed with the leads as of ep 2...

i dont think they kept goblin in mind while making it as goblin was way less darker and more funny than totnt... the only similarities is how afterlife works but then its according to the korean culture.. even along with the gods shows the same thing... goblin, grim reaper, gumiho etc are presented as how korean culture sees them.. so no matter which show it is the basics of these supernatural creatures will be the same..

i think when LY gave her the fox bead she was crying at that time as well..
what if jiah is not the first reincarnaition of ah eum? LY never tried to find the fox bead in other look alikes while they were crying?

its high time they talk it out rather than covering it up..

i might watch today's episode tomorrow along with tomorrow's episode...
