Title Tale of the Nine-Tailed Spoiler
So far I love everything here, Except I wish Yeon had shoved that dagger in Lee Rangs chest, I just can't stand…
his problem is not lee yeon stabbing but abandoning him for a girl.. he just want the undivided attention of his brother.. thats why lee yeon constantly tells him to grow up and behave like an adult..
On Couple on the Backtrack Oct 17, 2020
the best thing about this drama is that its only 12 episodes.. so there is no dragging..
it has some really good comedy scenes as well as emotional scenes. there is not much romance but the way both leads understood each other and their actions over the year was well done..
i didnt get second lead syndrome from this.. the female lead has a mindset of a 40 yr old woman and is a mother so obviously she sees the 2nd lead as a 20 something guy and not as the hot senior who is interested in her.. also she has been with the male lead for almost 20 years and its not easy to just forget about him.. they were facing the worst phase of their relationship when they went back in time so its understandable how they both didnt want to end up with each other again but as the episode progresses it shows the good times they had and why they were able to be with each other for almost 20 yrs..

Im loving it so far! One thing that kinda irk-ing me though is Jiah's job? I know she's a producer for horror/supernatural-related…
she just happens to be in places that is gonna to be a crime scene.. like the wedding scene.. she came to attend some other wedding but ended up finding about the missing bride.. she went to the island to get more information on her parents and also to do a piece on the daughter of the guy that died...
coincidents to move the story forwards..

He was supposed to get killed by Lee Yeon ...
lee yeon dont have any intention of killing lee rang but there are higher ups like the lady(is she a grim reaper) who orders lee yeon to kill supernatural creatures that eat humans like the bride in the first episdoe.. lee yeon got punished for killing one human but lee rang has been killing humans for centuries now..

I guess he doesn’t live with the law like Yeon
ya me too.. his reasons are not big enough to act this way.. he just comes off as someone who is extremely obsessed with hi older brother and hates the fact that his older brother can love someone more than him...
lee yeon's 'i dont care' attitude towards lee rang irks him the most... i guess if lee yeon gives lee rang some kind of attention then he might tone down his murderous actions..

Honestly I was thinking what the heck is his agents doing by picking this role....he thrives much better in romantic…
i guess an actor once reach a certain level of stardom even if they give 2-3 'not-so-good' dramas will bounce back with twice the stardom when they get a popular drama or movie..
if i am not wrong gong yoo and hyun bin were also not doing that well after coming back from the military.. look at them now.. their star power is way bigger than when they did coffee prince and secret garden resp...
jcw might not have the kind of star power his contemporaries have but the guy is not criticized for his acting in any of his recent dramas.. even the ones that didnt do well.. so he can bounce back quite easily..

he himself said in multiple ivs that he is an actor and dont want to get typecast as an action hero.. he wants to try different roles and different genre.. he is at least challenging himself instead of just playing safe and not just care about his star value..

that deal was to kill her father's killers and it was already fulfilled.. lee rang is not a 'buy one. get one free deal' kind of guy...

also how come none of the villiagers have any relatives.. they all are old people and they have been living there since the 50s.. so atleast one of them should have children and grandchildren.. like the guy who got eaten in the boat.. he has a daughter who went to the city for higher education..

cannibalism has always given me the chills...
even in fact that in kingdom also they cooked a human still gives me the chills..
i cannot even think of eating raw fish or meat..

Title Tale of the Nine-Tailed Spoiler
after watching this episode i am kind of sure this one is not gonna have a happy ending.. its kind of obvious.. lee rang is hell-bent on creating problems for them, imoogi will grow in lightning speed, the grim reaper lady clearly said human-fox relationship is a big no no..

lee rang has some serious abandonment issues.. he is doing all this just to get attention from lee yeon.. seems like he used to be way too pampered and protected by lee yeon and lee rang couldn't cop with the sudden disappearance of his brother.. from the flashback, he was a kid when LY left him but that dont justify his crazy actions. he is killing innocent people left right and center... LR cannot handle the fact that his brother can love someone more than him... he is like the typical second female lead of kdramas.. lol

i want more LR-JA and LR-LY scenes.. their interactions are fun to watch...
seems like yori is for LY's friend and not paired opposite LR... she is definitely gonna have soft spot for that guy and might betray LR for him... i dont see a happy ending for her as well...

today we finally got normal cute scenes b/w the leads.. they look good together.. i guess this is the first time they both were smiling and having a normal conversation... JA is also kind of giving signals that she started liking LY.. i thought she wont start having feeling for him this quick as she was always more interested in his supernatural world than him...

if all the villagers disappeared how come the girl with whom LY and JA were living didnt disappear?

'sleep with me or go to the underworld' was funny.. poor guy got bullied into marriage..

one big plot hole i find is how come lee rang get away with so many killing?
lee yeon killed one human being and that too someone who is a murdered, he gets punishment for a week(49 yrs in the afterlife) but lee rang is roaming around freely..
does it have anything to do with the fact that his life is somehow connected with a human being( the guy who has the baby imoogi)?

I don't know why they keep comparing it to Twilight, VD, Lucifer, Goblin, Odyssey etc etc. i think we have to…
except for tvd( that too only the confrontation scene of the brothers) i dont think it is anything like goblin, odyssey or especially lucifer and twilight.. almost all the supernatural kdramas/kmovies deal with the mythological creatures in korea.. along with the gods, goblin, totnt, hotel del-luna, all talk about how afterlife works according to korean culture.. so obviously there will be similarities.. koreans cannot make supernatural dramas without talking about how it is seen in their culture..
