someone explain to me how the stone figures works?
They're used to pinpoint a certain location on the mountain. First, guy stacks the stones and sticks into a figure that represents the mountain structure. Then he sticks a twig/rod into the part of the figure which represents that location. So you can comprehend the figure only if you're familiar w the mountain.
Episode 10 was one of the best episodes imo, as much as I'm confused about some things.
They're obviously hinting that Kim Sol is the killer, and it makes sense for him to kill off the cable car dude (he died in episode 1). But someone else with the black gloves was behind the death of his mother in 1991? And I'm not sure on the entire thing about the ghost lights not being bears. However the 1991 black village arc is very well made.
well they now are in the works of making some parts of the mountain wheelchair friendly. This is the 2021 half…
Good point! But I don't think the whole wheelchair friendly path is necessarily the killer's doing. It could just be that the killer is about to make use of it to lure her to the mountain and get rid of her asap. I actually don't think it is Gooyoung, I think he's a red herring. Remember YG told the ranger team about the signals in ep 1? But the killer manipulated the signal only after reading it in Dawon's notebook. If it was one of the rangers, they would have made a move eariler than that. So now my suspicions are on either the police officer or the researcher guy.
RIP Dawon... It's pretty obvious the killer is setting up Daejin, and Daejin is probably after the killer. Yigang is suspecting the wrong person and Gooyoung can't stand her. And now the killer knows about the signal thing, while Yigang can't even meet Hyunjo and there's no one to help her. Just a shitty situation all around.
I mean why don't they amplify the effects from Dawon's death instead of introducing that festival and the random…
I agree, or they could have shown the festival before the 2020 events. I think the two timeline storytelling is fine but they should arrange the sequences better. They don't need to force 2020 scenes into every episode. For some parts they had barely anything to tell and just showed countless scenes of Hyunjo walking through the mountain lmao
Also the last few released OSTs were absolutely amazing. I even went to search for the songs to add to my playlist. Falling, yours, in color, and the english song played at the end of today's episode. SO GOOD.
Now that the show's reached the halfway mark, looks like it has reached a turning point and will focus on the present from now on. Unfortunately I think this is it for Dawon... So everything went wrong once SYG and KHJ decided to take matters into their own hands to catch the killer. Which wasn't the best idea.
In the ep 9 preview, Guyeong is a different person and looks like he absolutely despises SYG. I wonder if it has to do with Yangsun. "When you're stranded, you panic and do illogical things" was that a jab directed towards SYG, implying she might have made a grave mistake? Both the leads look so miserable in 2020. It hurts, especially when we know they don't deserve this.
I must say I'm very curious to see what happens from now on. With so much tension and hidden emotions between the characters, seems like it will go full out Kim Eun Hee style now. The episodes were enjoyable so far but it's true that the actors (especially the supporting ones) haven't flexed much of their acting skills yet. Looking forward to the acting.
Episode 7 must have taken a big bulk of the budget. Damn. The fire scenes were epic with the helicopters putting out the fire, and I'm glad they're educating people on the dangers of wildfires. Totally gonna go rewatch those scenes. I can foresee some people complaining though since this sort of-documentary style isn't everyone's cup of tea.
Okay I thought this was a winter romance drama for the entire episode 6 lmao. But the highlight is how they turned the female lead from a character into a human. I loved Yigang's love-hate relationship with the mountains, her relationship with her grandmother and the chief, and why she became a ranger. Which makes what eventually happened to her all the more tragic. The rest however was kinda romance overload for me. Glad we'll be having wildfires in the next ep lol.
I really wanted to like Jirisan. I found the initial episodes really interesting. However, I feel show is heading…
I still enjoy it but your criticism is valid. I feel the best part of the show is the history of the mountain and how it affected people's lives, what the mountain means to them and their emotions related to it. I was truly touched by episode 2 but they're gravitating away from that theme. The focus of this show keeps changing, and the genres keep switching. It does feel like the murder mystery is just inserted to attract more viewers. I'm rather surprised because Kim Eun Hee's scripts always had a clear theme that her shows revolve around, but for Jirisan so far it feels like a mish-mash of several things. It might be the directing that's contributing to this. But I still see the unexplored potential so I'm continuing.
I don't think the 2018 timeline will be ending so soon. It's still late 2018 in the past timeline but from ep1,…
Oh that's true, this is confusing because HJ's date of hospitalization is in December 2019. If the 2018 timeline really ends this soon I wonder how the rest of the show will play out. It's gonna be hella depressing to watch a crippled FL and a half-dead ML the entire time.

I'm not totally sure though, the words at the hospital stated HJ was hospitalised in dec2019 but he might have transferred hospitals? Not too sure about the timeline lol, because it makes sense that they got into the accident after HJ became the killer's target.
I think the yogurt in the fridge hasn't been poisoned yet. The suspect could also be Jung Goo Young or Park Il…
Yeah, pretty much everyone is a suspect, even the researcher lady. Jung Goo Young would be a psycho if he was actually the culprit, that will mean he pretended to have a crush on Yangsun while also attempting to kill her. It would be interesting though. And tbh while I suspect him I always associate Jun Sukho with his character in kingdom lol.
