Awh, sad, I hoped you would also write about the Doctor and Jung Hye. She actually is my favourite character and…
I considered including them, but I felt like this piece was getting a little long and I wanted to stick to the poem a bit closer. You know... theming and all that lol
I love this! Super creative. I bet the directors of these shows would be very pleased to see that someone picked up on their subtle storytelling techniques.
I'm not sure "You who came from the stars" is a good example of a "conflict done poorly" in your article. To me,…
My issue with them is that they wouldn't really be a match for each other if Min Joon was able to kill. I would have liked if Jae Kyung had something about him that made him competition, rather than nixing Min Joon's abilities for a silly reason. You are totally right about the drive behind Jae Kyung pursuing Min Joon, though.
Thank you for this article! I especially love the inclusion of Are You Human Too here. For all its faults and…
I agree, Scarlet Heart Ryeo was rough around the edges. The falling action wasn't even the most egregious issue it had with pacing, but I just couldn't think of any other examples of bad falling action lol
how is it that a drama can be going so well then at some point it "breaks" or maybe the plot "runs out of gas"…
I think what causes this is a writer that has a good idea, but has no idea how to execute it. I've seen it plenty of times when a series literally won't have enough story to fill a 16-20 episode series (literally "running out of gas"). That's why I am completely in favor of short dramas instead of the 16-20 episode format. If the car doesn't have enough gas, then don't try to drive so darn far.
I am very judgemental of fluff. I can't stand it.
