Replay quality here is 100%. I rarely rewatch a show (have done it for 2 dramas - The Untamed and Scarlet Heart kdrama - in the past 13 years) but this one will definitely be included on the list. Just went back to this page after 3 years to see if people still go back to this show.
It's 2AM and I just finished the story. I rarely give 10 stars but this one deserves it.
I loved that it was not some cliché drama that we usually watch. I'll especially commend the writers of the story. There were plenty of lines that hit me and *almost* made me cry.
I've put this off for a month before a decided to watch because I thought it'll just be some filial drama with usual plots and empty scripts. I was wrong, and I'm glad that I was.
If you're still contemplating on whether to watch this, please give it a chance.
Whilst on ep 18, I remember feeling this giddy and obsessive back when I was watching The Untamed and Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. I thank the production company and actors for bringing another splendid xianxia drama. I freakin' love this one! Gonna avoid scrolling first so I don't spoil myself.
They started the series wonderfully but ended a disappointment. Tbh after that ending, I think Zhao Ge and Yi had a more beautiful love story than the leads lol it went downhill for those last 8 episodes.
I laughed at the ending. I watched this series in between work and this is what I get lol
Before I fell into the The Untamed hole (lol), I was contemplating it for about 5 months because I tried to stir clear from BL. I tried to a week ago and let me tell you something. It seems like I might not be able to go back to who I was before hahaha
To those who are contemplating whether they need to watch this, just give it a try. Understand that China has tv censorship so scenes are more of friendship-type of a relationship. And not only that, this was very heartwarming. All of the characters just blend in together. I hope you give this a chance like I did. I never regretted it. Not once.
This and Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms are probably my top chinese dramas of all time.
