I like your comment so I had to log in to reply, but as I watch the episodes and trailers, I can't help but think this drama would have been perfect as 49 or 52 episodes. But I feel like China is standardizing most of their dramas to be 40 episodes or something.

There could have been more plot and character development instead of outright revealing, like some of the villains and character introductions in this story.

Now I can expect this when I read the novel, I wish someone wrote plot points somewhere so I don't have to read the ENTIRE novel. :D

I just have to post this little annoyance, so the whole achievement of becoming a yin-yang master is to be able to learn how to love unconditionally to protect them with your own life, but ultimately, you can't return their love because you have to manage your duties as a yin-yang master? Qingming's master had to sacrifice and then Qingming ALSO has to? >.<

I was pleasantly surprised at how well-executed this drama was. Ruby's acting... love this new angle she's taking.

For those who have read the novel, does it detail well how shang gu and nai jue fell in love? or were there merely short flashbacks?

right?! honestly, when i saw houchi, i knew she wasn't going to end well. but in the second life in love and destiny, she had to "die" in order for the goddess to be reborn.

i do love houchi and qing mu the most, i don't care. bai jue is sacrificial, but at least qing mu still unconditionally loved houchi in the end and never did anything to hurt her, which involved lying to her.
