First it was taken by Jin Mu and royal family, then Master Lee took it back around near ep 15, then gave it to Uk saying how he had to take responsibility if she use it for killing, Uk gave it to her, she was powerless and they kept it for safe, when they were stuck in ice stone barrier and she got power back temporarily, she used it, then Uk lost all his powers for saving Yul and breaking the barrier. In ep 19 - 20, before those bells things happened, both were powerless.
You know the only sword Uk used for the whole part 1 was his father Jang Gang, Gwanju's sword, not her sword.
