2. does anyone know when the studio is planning to air this? i heard it passed its review (roughly 6 days ago) & received its license to air but i don’t know for sure that it did

The WeTV/iFlix subtitles are good for episode 1 then get kind of terrible again, but I think they are better than mango. And my guess is that WeTV has a human slowly re-doing the machine translation, so if you’re willing to wait, I bet they will go through a re-do all the episodes eventually.

I’ll answer my own question since I found out: the subtitles on iFlix have been updated and are good now. Check them out!

Chidi woman is/was the goddess of war who, 30,000 years ago, fought against Dong Fang Qing Cang and ended his ambitions—in the novel, she led a large heavenly army against him, in the drama it seems like she basically took him on one-on-one and defeats him through self-sacrifice. Did she die when she defeated DFQC or did some part of her survive? The “legend” says that the goddess of Xishan is the only one who can tame DFQC but she “disappeared.” It’s not clear, entirely, who she is, but her sigil is the little clump of grass~

For me, the best scene so far was when the Moon Supreme showed up WITH THE MOON (lmaooo!!) and blasted Lan Hua’s attackers into smithereens. DFQC as King Kong was FANTASTIC. more scenes like that please!!

Despite some things not being perfect, I must say I’m so happy today b/c, flaws aside, CLJ is an entertaining xianxia, and after reading the novel ages ago, and eagerly awaiting the drama, it’s very fulfilling to finally get to watch it.
