I read the novel this is based on when this drama was first announced. The plot is significantly better than 99% of xianxia dramas out there. However, censorship is always an issue: all the good things about this could end up being erased or shaved down to the point that there’s not much left that is worth watching. I saw the trailer and it looked promising. I am holding out hope. When will this pass its review?
Is this one based on a novel? I feel like I remember reading it when it was announced but I can’t find it and the character names don’t look familiar to me. I may be mixing it up with a different novel.
Ugh, this drama looks terrible… by which I mean they used so much skin smoothing that these people, who DO NOT NEED to be skin smoothed, no longer look like themselves. I hate skin smoothing.

That’s an interesting idea. ZLH would indeed probably have done quite a good job as SY. I think BJT can do it, though—if you look at how he did as Xing Ke Lei in YAMH, I think these are similar roles.
