Hoping that season 2 will delve more into the fantastic character Song Ji Won ... she's so warm and funny and season 1 did not give her enough depth or screen time.

I really enjoyed her work in "Nobuta wo Produce" and "Hana Kimi" .... but looking at her list of work ... it seems like her peak was between 2003-2010. Her last few projects didn't have much of an impact.
Glad that she has the option of taking out some time to take care of her family after being in the J-entertainment industry for so long.

Kaoru Kobayashi was amazing in his portrayal ... a man of few words but his body language and facial expressions were so telling.

Your article has me feeling so nostalgic!! 2006 doesn't seem that long ago!
I remember watching Nobuta wo Produce with my friends and imitating all the catchphrases! I watched Goong but not to my tastes.
Other dramas that I enjoyed watching from 2006 were: The Young Warriors of the Yang, Rondo, Bad Family, Kekkon Dekinai Otoko, Alone in Love, and Bump Off Lover!

From what I've watched, the biological dad of Caini (the daughter) is never shown ... (Trying to be as non-spoilery as possible ...haha) Zhenying helps out Caini's mother (they are not romantically involved) and ends up taking in Caini and adopting her as his own.
I am watching this drama!... it's quite a slow paced drama but I like the plot (bitter idol group break up) and the characters who all are charming and flawed in their own way, with interesting backstories!
