This film is an experience that goes far beyond the narrative. Yutaka’s journey, waking up to a world that has completely changed while he was asleep, is portrayed with incredible sensitivity and humanity. Kiyoshi Kurosawa masterfully balances delicate humor, moments of melancholy, and the beauty of small interactions that carry deep meaning. It’s impossible not to get drawn into the protagonist’s search for identity, connection, and purpose.
On Riverside Mukoritta Jan 11, 2026
Riverside Mukolitta is a delicate and contemplative film that masterfully combines subtle humor with melancholy. The way each character carries their pain, small losses, and struggles to reconnect with life is portrayed with rare sensitivity. Every scene, from the squid cleaning work to the simple moments in the garden, conveys a quiet poetry about existence and human relationships
On Katayama Shinzo Jan 10, 2026
shinzo katayama really knows what he’s doing. from gannibal to his other films, he blends suspense, humanity, and social commentary with precision and sensitivity. he’s a totally skilled and underrated director who deserves way more recognition.

Person Woo Min Ho
I’m almost done with his entire filmography, and I can’t help but say it: this guy works magic when it comes to politics. So underrated.
The main character floats through time, but also through life. The time jumps feel almost like a sensory, meditative experience. Every movement, every glance, every little detail is heightened by Obayashi’s direction, and the movie ends up feeling like a dream in motion.
