I think the ending poem summarized the loveliness of the show. Like lovecoutureflyy said, the story is rather simple. But watching it put a smile on my face. Not just cause of the food. But the characters...even the side ones...that they gave so much heart and importance to.
(btw, loved how they showed them wrapping up. I felt part of the goodbye.)

If you do watch it, I hope it'll be your thing. If not, sorry. lol
I know dramas aren't always going to make sense...but when I do see a well-crafted drama, it makes me wonder why all dramas can't be like that. I don't mind the cliches and the things that make our hearts flutter. But can't we have both? :(
Which sites you check reviews on?
I'm back at finding it difficult starting a new drama. Is The Princess' Man really that good? Not sure if I want a historical drama right now. But I'll find a time for it. I should just start something and stick with it.
Finally caught up in time for the final episode. I'm very surprised by how much I enjoyed Doo Joon's acting. I never knew. It's been a relaxing drama to watch.

I think I lean towards the action/suspense genre. Or psychological like White Christmas (I enjoyed that one too). I do prefer "darker" subject matter...with a touch of sweetness. That probably doesn't make sense. lol
But at the end, something needs to stick out. Some kind of meaning. (BTW I have your profile open on another window and the Joo Won gif is distracting me xD Still so cute though.).
Like Cruel City, I loved the relationships between the characters. Even though it was screwed up at times.
Good Doctor, I loved watching PSO overcome. Seeing people who at one point were against him, clap for him.
The Bridal Mask, watching him change and learn to fight not just for himself, but for others.
I'll accept cliches to a certain extent. But I do want a strong story.
yea...The characters are very important and I want them to be strong too.

Although I've suddenly added a ton of shows to my list...it's like I can't enjoy most of them anymore. Maybe I'm getting too picky. Being overly critical. I'm sure a lot of the shows I watched years before and enjoyed had things that would tick me off today. I probably just don't remember.

ahhh Kinda like Nine. That one had rules defined. Unlike other dramas that suddenly throw something in and pretend we didn't notice.
Sadly, I haven't seen very many dramas. I'm still looking for them.
I recently finished A Man's Story. ...Although...I'm a bit hesitant in recommending it to people because of it being so different from your usual drama. But I appreciate it for its writing.
It's very dialogue heavy and sometimes deals with matter I have little knowledge about (like stocks). But I was glad that I didn't have to yell at the show for using "stupid" as a way out. I loved each of the characters. They actually had brains. And the story changes as it goes on.
It did take me a while to finish because I was always so tired...and you do need to pay attention.
Somehow, I was obsessed with Kim Kang Woo's character. Really great acting from him.

Probably why I'm getting tired of all the romance dramas. Yet I still keep trying to watch them, because every now and then, I want to watch something light. But what I absolutely hate in dramas is when they have that one character that has to be so mean. Or the miscommunication between the 2 leads. Or the really awful male lead. I just end up feeling miserable. :<
I still am hoping to find a good romance. If it's going to be romance, I don't want a story where the mean guy turns nice at about episode 10. Definitely not the 2nd to last episode. And I don't like it when the female runs off to the secondary lead for majority of the drama only to ditch him at the last minute. lol But that's usually the story...

I was actually avoiding watching it because I was afraid it was overrated. Yes the age difference is a bit weird. lol I never thought they'd actually go there. And when he was following her early on (I'm watching it on Viki and everyone thought it was so cute)...I found to be creepy. Really, if some guy was following me like that, I'd be creeped out. No matter how cute he was.
I was just confused how she got in front of him so fast to block the stab. :( Oh well...drama logic. lol

I Hear Your Voice. I like the leads (starting to like the female more) and the romance. I think I'll look for more dramas with Lee Jong Suk. There are just a few details that have ticked me off. Her getting stabbed. Most recently, the amnesia route. But I guess that's kdrama. heh

Let's Eat is....cute, humorous and fun. I picked it up because one of my friends, who has never seen a kdrama, messaged me one day saying she was watching that. There isn't a lot of plot. But there's a lot of cute romance and LOTS of food. Like certain scenes dedicated to just food consumption. I like the entire cast. It's not something I'll watch again. But it leaves me happy and hungry.
14 Days looks promising, but I have trouble recommending dramas that are still running. I have my doubts about 3 Days, but I'm going to continue it so that I stop my dropping trend. Hopefully it proves me wrong.
The Devil is an older drama. I was Googling around and found it listed as a top drama. Resurrection is a recommendation from my sister-in-law, so I may watch that too.
What sort of dramas are you looking for now? Or what do you dislike?

TEN...it sorta has a story going through it. But it's barely touched on til the end. You know how a lot of police kdramas make no sense? Well some of the cases in TEN were actually thought out and well-written, which is why I would rate it high. But I took off a point for the reason of it not grabbing my attention. Probably an unfair reason (and maybe it's just me)...but when I watch a drama, I am looking to be INTO it. Like Cruel City. I want to love the characters and feel like I'm invested in them. Not just have a nice story. If that were the case, I'd just watch a movie.
It seems that in a lot of romance kdramas, not much happens. I mean there is a bit of story. But in between that is just a lot of fluff to make viewers happy. Is it like that? :( Maybe it's because of my lack of romance dramas aside from the popular ones.

Oh okay, I think I know what you mean about Bloody Monday. I may have a look at the first episode to get a better idea of the style. Out of curiosity.
And as for it being episodic, I'm actually the same way, at least when it comes to dramas. I like that dramas have a beginning and end to it. The drama TEN was sorta episodic. I mean it had a continuous feel to it. But each episode was a different case (they are detectives), which would take up the whole episode. So even though the writing actually made sense for once and I really enjoyed the individual stories... I never developed any attachment to the main characters.
How is Cunning Single Lady now? I always read the top lines of dramabean's recaps and she seems to like it.
It's okay. I like long messages. xD Hope you have a nice day.

yea...Tough not being to spazz about what you just watched. That's why it's nice to have sites like this one. Although I always worry about recommending dramas to people, especially my favorites like Cruel City.
Well Empress Ki...I may just take my time on. Either way, it's so looooong... I get tired just thinking about it. I'm trying to finish up some of the "popular" dramas that I haven't seen yet.
Interesting. There's an article on a US news site about the popularity of this show. Apparently, at a meeting of govt officials in China, they discussed why they can't make dramas like South Korea... specifically this one, as ppl have been going crazy over it. Didn't realize it was that popular.

Oh no it's okay! lol I felt sorry that I didn't want to say... heh
I wish I could forget Cruel City so that I could watch it and it be new again. For now, I'm trying to relive it through people. I've recommended it to some people I know, but since they don't really watch dramas (one has only seen one), they probably will never get around to it.
That's too bad about Empress Ki. I was hoping to continue it. But I have issues completing dramas that can't keep my interest.
I've heard a lot about Emergency Couple. Perhaps I'll start that. And I know you're only on the first episode but how is Bloody Monday? I saw it mentioned in a thread, "dramas like Cruel City".

I love Park Si On. awww...Makes me wanna watch again. I'm watching Cruel City again. Well...some of it. And I'm trying to watching airing dramas with hopes that I'll actually finish more dramas.
No, I'm not a student anymore. I'm a bit older than you. Other than that, I don't like posting my age. :(
